Got a set from my old car but the details for that were:

PCD: 4 x 100mm (4 studs)
Offset: 35 -38
Wheel Nut Thread: 12 x 1.5mm
Wheel Nut Torque: 76ft/lbs (103 n/m)

So what do i need to do to make these fit the Bravo?

I am also in need of some front dampers. So what is the cheapest price I can get for a real decent set (prices for both 2 and 4 and or links which ever possible).

wobbly bolts will allow 100pcd wheels to fit the fiat 98pcd hubs.

as for dampers, you need gas ones but the make doesnt really matter. i've had expereince of a few makes and i find that KYB excel-g shocks are the best balance of ride and price. they cost approx £22 each depending on your model. i bought mine form my local motorfactors however i believe buypartsby sell them on the web. the excel-g shocks give firm predictable bound and rebound, and come in standard length which is always advisable unless you have 60mm+ lowering springs.

Ta

I've got the 1.2 SX

Just got to get the alloys bored to fit the Bravo! Have a look at them on my old, knackered engine, car.

Arbarth alloy wheel centres to come. Also quite inspired by the fog light / headlight washer set up on the top models, so thats a must. One step at a time though.

All this should see me well under budget - as yet unset

Yep, ur sharp:D

fun to drive but lots of engine probs now hence back in the Fiat

i havent been in one of them for years. great cars in their day. i used to think they looked futuristic once upon a time, lol

Great cars hey!?! I have enjoyed my time driving it. I'll bid my time for a 'proper' sports car later.

In the meantime I'll make my Bravo a better car.

I shall be improving the handling and interior comfort. So ta for the advice. Oh by the way, exactly how to I tweak the fitting of the Alfa 147 seats to go in the Bravo? or is it going to be blatently obvious?

Oh and does the HGT (and 1.8) have a different PAS unit to the 1.2 - is it better / sharper? As i'm needing to sharpen the handling.

the PAS on the 1.8 and 2.0 model bravo's has less assistance so it is much better and i stongly recommend you upgrade. i previously had a 1.6 and one of the things i hated most about it was the power steering (and the seats :yuck: ) but the 1.8/2.0 steering doesnt feel half as scary.

i havent actually fitted 147 seats, all i did was take measurements to determine if it is possible. i know they will fit because the measurements are practically identicle. the back seats are same size, the mounting points will most likely be out by a few inches but iirc they have the same number of bolts in roughly the same place. its not hard to modify the mounts- say a bolt needs to go into a hole that is 2 inches out, you have 2 options: 1. drill a new hole and bolt into it (thread hole and it should manage fine for rear seats) or 2. make an adapter plate with a hole and a bolt thread on it so that the original mount on the seat and car can be joined. i prefer this option, it doesnt cause any permantent damage to the car.
the front seats looked like it would be possible to remove the lower runners from the bravo and slide them onto the upper runners on the 147 seats, if that is possible they should bolt straight in as the distance between the runners was almost exactly the same on both cars. if that isnt possible then the lower runners on the 147 seats would need to be drilled to allow bolting to the bravo chassis, or alternatively weld some new mounting points. its all easily possible with a bit of thought and possibly a bit of welding. my only problem was finding a set of 147 seats that was affordable. i got quoted £350 from an alfa specialist breaker and £200 from a scrapyard in edinburgh. both overpriced and too far for me, but if i ever get the chance i'll be doing it.

Someone over at Boo (Ash) put 147 front seats in his Bravo, they needed some fabrication/welding. Not sure if he tried the rears or just didnt bother. Apparently 156 fronts go straight in, no clue about the rears though.

wow i didnt know that. i love the 156 seats that come in the black fabric with red stiching and logo, i might have a look for some.
