I'm new on here and hope I've posted in the correct place. If not please advise correct method of posting.

I have a Fiat Bravo 1998 1600 16V
The Airbag light is on after removing the fuse whilst battery was connected (I assume that's the reason for the light)
I've bought KKL and the 3 pin to KKL leads and downloaded Multiecuscan.

I have a non BREED airbag controller (ECU) and notice Multiecuscan lists only BREED airbags.
Can anyone tell me if Multiecuscan would still connect to the airbag unit.

Multiecuscan discovers the KKL interface but not the Airbag controller.

I'm desparate for any advice as my car has failed MOT on the airbag light issue

All replies appreciated

Mmm I've got my m.o.t at end of month and my lights on too.....thought they'd changed it back to advisory.
I'd contemplated just takin my airbag out steering wheel as if its not there can't fail you on it.

Not a solution but gets through the m.o.t

Success.....Had another go at cancelling the light using Multiecuscan and was able to cancel the light. Got the car booked in for MOT on monday.
Great that you can download Mutiecuscan for free but it appeared to me that a novice would possibly find getting the settings right baffling. We had trouble connecting so we: Disconnected the 3pin and VAG cables, turned the ignition off, Shut down Fiatecuscan, recheced in Device manager that we were using the correct port and that it was configured as recommended in the Fiatecuscan PDF. When we reconnected and corrected the above we were able to detect the airbag. One other thing you can try is try plugging your VAG lead into a different USB socket on your laptop.
The airbags are listed in the programme as BREED airbags. The airbag control unit does not say BREED on it anywhere so I came to the conclusion that Fiatecuscan would not detect the control unit for my airbag.
I contacted Multiecuscan and they told me:
"According to our information Fiat Bravo uses only BREED airbags.
However, depending on the year of manufacture it has either BREED MY97 or the older BREED model. Multiecuscan supports both models (the older and the new MY97)… so, you should have no problem to connect to your airbag module."
So we had another go and tried to connect to each of the three BREED airbags listed. We had success with one of them and turned off the warning light.
Worth mentioning that it doesn't appear that using Multiecuscan that you can access the ECU for the engine for a Fiat Bravo 1998 1600 16V. To access the engine ECU (3 pin plug for this next to fuses in engine compartment) we scrolled to other fiat models and scanned for the engine ECU and was able to detect the ECU by selecting one of the other models (think it was a marea 1999)
Hope some of the above helps otheres that have been trawling to get help with this reset.
Worth the £42 quid I paid for the cables. Fiat wanted me to wait a week for the diagnostic and pay £60 just for that.
Was starting to despair but all came good.

Hello, Could you let me know where you got the cables from, or what i should be looking for?. What are they called etc.

My airbag light is on this morning after accidentally pulling the wrong fuse.

Being really cheeky now....you aren't local to Birmingham are you?
