Hi everyone.

after being in a non-fault bump in my modified seicento ive bought a 1.8 hlx mk1 bravo...

im still into tuning cars and i know everyone is going to shout go get a hgt. well simple thing is i dont want one lol, the 5 pot is a amazing sounding engine but pain to service and work on imo.. although ive been proven wrong before.

is there much i can do. alot seems to be pointing to no, but ive been told that before also.

any help apreciated!

He clock sorry I didnt see your post earlier ive been busy. The 1.8 is great I love mine.

I have a replacement panel filter, that made a good difference.

Im not saying it will be a direct fit or even worth while (needs more research), but I was thinking about trying to fit a punto HGT supersprint exhaust manifold and downpipe for mine or mix something up from the coupe or Brachetta.

A good service works wonders. When I bought it my car had the wrong spark plugs. Putting the correct NGK BKR6EKC made a massive difference. Cleaning every electrical connection also improved all sorts of things.

The final plans I have for mine are; fitting eibach pro Progressive suspension springs, Hel Stainless Steel Brake pipes, fitting an alfa twinspark oil cooler (dont know if it will be a direct fit for sure) and a quaife LSD, possibly larger front callipers from the HGT, trying to fit a punto HGT supersprint downpipe and long life exhaust, powdercoating the rocker cover and buying an Optima Gel battery. Apart from that mine is finnished. Personally I dont want to do any engine modifications.

You can fit Brembo four pot callipers from the coupe, search the section for info.

Have a look at the BHP figures for the Coupe Punto HGT and Brachetta 1.8's, Its the same engine with minor changes, their BHP figures are a little higher. You could fit one of those engines.

i have the hgt callipers here and you need the hgt hub.. meaning you need the hgt susp. and the hgt shafts pita so ill stay with the 257 off my seicento as they are brand new and refurbed pluss the right size replacement as ive got old 257 ons now.

the vis on the barchetta and punto hgt is it transfereable with a head change?

i imagine as there the same blocks the ss mani will fit.

immediate plans for mine are lowered ~40-60mm and induction. then save for the exhaust.

also new handles and wing mirror stands
