anyone know anything about the viability of fitting an alfa 145/146/155 or similar steering rack

from what i have researched the front suspension bottom arms and other components of the alfas all seem to be bravo hgt parts or coupe and so on

howether the hlx like mine has diferent bottom arms with a smaller pin on the ball joint and anoyingly more expensive but hay i have 2 new ones now

but i would like to know if anyone has done this mod to a bravo

having an alfa 2 turns rack would certainy make the car more able to drive i always thought 3 and a bit was still a little to much of a handfull when driving grows gurth

was the quick rack on all of those? hmmmm, don't forget the turning circle is widened with the quick rack.

also many people prefer the slower rack on 155's which had both the original and quick rack steering, when pushing on, but the quick rack better about town.

i meant alfa 155 not bravo hgt155hp and yea due to some wider v6 engines i spose the alfas do seem to have a larger turning circule well my broters 146 certainly doesent seem as manouverable as my hlx

but on the open road it would be nice i'm sure

The rack you refer to sounds like the one fitted to the coupe 20vt, I know it is also used on the GTV.
so was probably used on the 155 etc.
The HGt and coupe 20v N/A have the same slower racks. :)

yea i know those have slower racks with a little less t/c cos of wider engines but there still not 2 turns lock to lock only alfas seem to have that and the fiat doblo for some reasone

the coupe 20vt last one i sat in was something like 2.2 or 2.4

but i spose one of those racks may be more aropriate in the bravo

theres me thinking its simple just get an alfa 2.0 there are so many racks to chose from

:idea:what i want to find realy is a rack with less turns than mine but not nessesarily 2 and the same or similar t/c (i have a tight drive)

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::bang::bang:
