1) need to replace the passenger winmirror on my 2.0 20v hgt that is electric. only need the outside plastic bit as bits are snapped off of mine.

can i get one off a manual wingmirror? are they the same and just swap them over?
and where can you unplug the heated/electic adjustment wires that go into the mirror? are there plugs somewhere you can undo? or have i gota cut the wires then re-wire.

2) on a completely different note. ive seen a couple of bravos with the 20v turbo engines in. Is this a relatively easy transplant? what do you need to change / uprate?

does the 20v exhaust manifold fit straight onto the 20v turbo engine? what 20v turbo parts would you need from a donor? ecu and key immobiliser etc... ? does the 20v turbo engine fit into the 2.0 20v mounts, or do you need to use different mounts etc

and are you also using a diff gearbox aswel

hi i own a hgt to the wing mirrors are complete units i priced mine up from fiat bout a year ago as some youths kindly smashed one of mine off £225 yeah right scrap yard is your best bet you can get the electric ones off of the 1.8 hlx as well then just spray paint, as for the plugs these are tucked inbetween the two plastic fittings that hold the mirror in place and there is just a clip that you can just pull apart so happy dayz:D

as for the engine swap again this is somethin i have looked into as i have seen them too when van aakan tuning was doin fiats i rang them about a transplant and they quoted £10000 i nearly fell over, apparently its full engine swap including the wiring loom, exhaust system everythin has to swapped so its not easy or cheap and you need to find a good coupe engine thats not been drivin hard or mis treated at the right place (y)

hope this helps

Hi,

To convert to a Turbo engine.

The coupe 20VTurbo engine uses the same engine block as the normal 20v. The difference between the two is the internals, pistons, crank etc. This means that the engine mounting points are the same. Although I think the Turbo has uprated engine mounts.

The 20v turbo exhaust bolts straight onto the turbo and the turbo is bolted to the manifold. So, No, the exhaust wont fit. Also the turbo exhaust system is a bigger diameter.

The turbo also uses a different gearbox with longer gear ratio's.
40mph in 1st 72mph in 2nd 105mph in 3rd 130mph in 4th and 155mph in 5th.

The turbo has a different clutch, driveshafts, wishbones, anti roll bar, front dampers/springs, hubs, brembo brakes.

The turbo's rear brakes are the same as the HGT.

You would then need an intercooler for the air and all the pipe work to connect it to the 20vTurbo induction manifold and turbo.

Also you will need an oil cooler for the oil that is heated by the turbo.

An uprated fuel pump.

Then a complete wiring loom and Ecu.

As you can see, there is quite a shopping list and if you sourced the parts individually it would cost a fortune.

To do this you would need to buy a salvage coupe Turbo with good mechanicals. This way you can strip all the parts keeping records.
Then strip out your car and transfer all the parts over. Is a massive project. Which you would have to do yourself. A great hobby though.
It would be far cheaper to buy a coupe turbo.

Hope this helps. :)
