Hi,

Not a fiat but an old vw bug. This weekend i want to rust
proof the underside of our bug but i wanted some advice on what the best thing to do is?

Is it underseal and then waxoyl?

Any tips for doing this?

thanks

nath

personal prefference for a KDF-wagen would be to paint the underside and inside doors etc with a strong brine solution and a steel wire brush :p

anyway i agree with Andy Monty, the Bilt Hamber range is meant to be very highly rated, read several positive reviews from different sources. looking into it myself for my MGB

My 1983 Alfa Romeo GTV-6 2,5L got a Dinitrol treatment in 1988, and is completely rustfree today.
My 1988 Pontiac Firebird got a full Dinitrol treatment in 1998, and is completely rustfree today.
My daily driver 1993 Fiat Fiorino 1,7D Pick-Up got an Dinitrol treatment in 2001, ans is almost rustfree today.
Our family station wagon, a 2000 Fiat Palio Weekend 1,6-16V got a Dinitrol treatment in 2003, and is still completely rustfree now.
And yes, they throw lots of salt on the roads overhere in winter, and yes Holland got one of the worst, humid climates in Europe....rust is an issue overhere, even on the newest models and car brands.
All my cars go to a Dinitrol station.often within the first year when I buy them, no matter the factory anti rust warranty, which I don't trust.
After much investigation, I went to Dinitrol, and I don't regret it one bit.
( after all, i.m.o. a bad rustproofing treatment is worse than no treatment at all...)
Second choice for me would be Teroson products, I sometimes use Teroson Multi Wax for small repairs.
