Hi, I am a proud owner of abarth 500.

I am interested to change the OEM seats, with a pair of sparco R-100 bucket seats (without side airbags).

I'm wondering what I can do to avoid the indicator light of airbag, on ?

Does anyone have the fiat wiring diagram, which includes informations/details about the airbags?

 Hi and welcome to the forum. I know that when the Sabelt seats are fitted there is a plug in module that is fitted to the harness to prevent the air bag warning lights from coming on.

You may be able to get more info from the Sabelt website or even an Abarth dealer.

OR MICHAEL.

:yeahthat:
A few links that might be worthwhile looking at. Picture courtesy of fiat500owners.com. At least fitting an aftermarket seat in a European 500 hasn't got the same headaches as fitting one in a North American 500.

The Sabelt seats come with a "jumper" it is an orange plastic piecewith a resistor inside (2.2 ohms) that will fool the ECU into thinking theairbags are still there and not put the airbag light on the dashboard.

If you find out how to simulate the sabelt / recardo plug in module for bypassing the seat airbag would apprciate if you could update the forum.

It might also be worthwhile contacting the supplier on that last link since a number of Sabelts including a set off a Assetto Corse are advertised.

Nope, none of them interested and the plug in module is not a factory listed spare part. I know of a GP with a set installed and when I get a moment I'll have a nose around the plug. It should be easy enough to make one up. I've been meaning to do this for ages but the last few months have seen me distracted with the lotus.

I have the 500 out on a trackday on the 3rd of Nov so the idea of fiddling with the plug to replicate again is tempting.

Ι succeeded (with an auto electrician) το bypass the seat airbag, with a jumper (approximately 2.2 ohms).

Now it's ok without any indicator airbag light on.

Awesome, can you post some pics so we can see what pins to connect?

unfortunatelly, i hane no any photos, of the installation.
I ll try to make a shooting....

here some pics from my new sparco r-100 and my jumper (bypass for the seat airbag).

No any problems with the indicator light of airbag.

The seat driver position is too low, like a kart!

Nice one! Thanks. I'll be making use of this next weekend when the race seat goes in for the Cadwell track day.
