Do you have the name(s) at Fiat CustomerCare of who helped you resolve the problem of not UConnectLIVE, get the new firmware installed etc? Is there Twitter activity re this problem? Please send us how I can access either or both of them. I just sent you the msg I received today from Fiat Customer Care UK denying any responsibility for for misleading us literally from the first day we acquired our 500X. They KNEW why we had no UConnectLIVE, that it had nothing to do with compatibility between Apple iOS and UConnectLIVE they had told us was the problem for six months. My first choice is to get this fixed quickly by Fiat FCA. My second choice is making sure this mistreatment of us and other FCA customers will end up costing FCA a lot more than it it would or will have cost them if they did or do the right thing by offering us the opportunity to have the UConnectLIVE they advertise comes in every 500X with 5" Radio NAV or 6.5" radio NAV.

The first bit is quite easy. Just check what version of the firmware you have in Settings. If it is lower than 16 your dealer should be able to update it for you.

Once this is done, an email to Customer Services with your vehicle VIN or Reg Number should be enough for them to activate uConnect Live services.

If you don't already have one you will need to create a uConnect account on their website and install the uConnect Live app on your mobile.

That SHOULD be all you need. Good luck

I have the 6.5" uConnect and the information is under System Information in the Settings menu. I have no idea what the 5" unit's menu is like.

I asked the dealer for the updated firmware and is was done free of charge. I don't remember who I spoke to at Customer Services but there are at least three people on this forum who have succeeded getting their uConnect Live Services activated. Your dealer should be able to help you.

There is nothing more I can add. Maybe Dominic Wood should read this Forum

Hi Newbie member here! Recently bought a 500x lounge. I've also got the issue of the 5" radio nav Live not being live. I'm sure there's a dead parrot (radio) joke in there somewhere. I had the software update and now I can see the services but they are still greyed out. Before the update my phone (an android) could see the car but when hitting the continue button I got the error message saying the car wasn't enabled for live services. Now after the update the app on my phone can't find the car. My phone is enabled for bluetooth tethering and I have a data package. It's going into the dealer for 2 days so they can try and figure this one out. Has anyone had this fixed or know what the fix is? thanks :worship:



As far as I can remember I cured this problem by simply creating a whole new uConnect Live account with a different email address and it worked fine after that. It does take quite a while for the uConnect app to turn white on the unit though

You're right. It would be good if Dominic Wood (and others at Fiat Customer Care) read this forum ... and cared more about true customer care than avoiding providing it.

You're welcome

You should get access to all of the uConnect Live services with a valid uConnect account. For some reason it didn't like my original one, but worked straight away with a new one.

The only issue you MIGHT get is TomTom Live services. On the 6.5 unit they worked straight away but with the 5" unit you might have to pay £49, hope not though
 
Anyone know how to find out on your 5" Radio NAV screen what model radio and firmware your 500X has (what buttons do you simultaneously hold down and in what mode?) AND how to get a newer one installed that will work with UConnect LIVE? Fiat Customer Care claims that is "not possible" to fix this problem if you are stuck with a 500X built for a rental fleet as it now appears our 500X was. BTW the dealer never told us that when we bought it new.
 
My Uconnect 6.5 had a crazy fit the other day. Was idling my time away in the car whilst my wife was in a shop and was trying the Live services via the app on my phone. Went to check the weather forecast and the system thought I was in Russia, same for checking on hospitals, tried to direct me to one in Moscow even though I live in Kent in the UK.

Tried again the next day and all was back to normal. The only odd thing is when looking at hospitals it does not mention any of the NHS ones in the area just private clinics and physio's and that sort of thing. What do other users get in other areas. Has any body done an upgrade to 16.00 on there 6.5 Uconnect software and if so what difference has it made?

I'm now running v16 but I don't know what the difference is as it's all new, never had Live under v 15. I'll take a peep next time I'm in the car. The weather forecast is definitely correct, I do know that much

I don't think you will get much else until your firmware is version 16. What year is your car. Mine is a 2015 2 litre diesel and I had all kinds of problems but sorted now.

When you go to Settings for Nav there should be a new category of TomTom Live services, which may or may not be active. If it's not there you need the firmware update.

Let me know if you need any more help, it should all be do-able for free
 
In my one all works without problems live shows traffic ( last sunday trip from Windsor to Notwich and return....satnav shows traffic very well but I dont belive for this real update and this cost me about 30 minutes in long quake ...
On satnav screen info message says ROAD BLOCK IN ONE MILES ..and there was car on fire!
So i think its working...but i havent SD SLOT IN MY CAR!!! LOUNGE version With 17 reg...

I like that it announces "Traffic Jam Ahead" but only occasionally does it announce the location of that traffic jam. I don't necessarily need to know that there is heavy traffic 50 miles ahead of me, not until I get much closer, but a definite improvement on the basic Nav

I currently receive, whilst using the Nav, updates saying that there is a Traffic Jam ahead and do I want to take an alternative route, so I assume I have the Tom Tom Live services active..

Was wondering what else the Uconnect Live does, as I notice the Phone app has connections to Facebook, Twitter etc, was kind of expecting to get Facebook updates on the Nav screen etc...

Only one thing though, uConnect Live isn't enabled! It's an ex rental car so it's disabled. Is it likely that it could ever be enabled? Contacted Fiat help through Twitter who have opened a case for me and are checking. Is it likely to work?

Yep, I found myself in exactly that situation. Basically you need to get your dealer to apply any uConnect updates, INCLUDING NAV, create a uConnect Live account if you haven't already done so, then ask Fiat to activate your uConnect Live services. Took about 3 days in total then everything worked

I can't be bothered with Twitter and Facebook etc while I'm driving but I do know you have to connect your accounts to uConnect Live. With the DAB radio I don't worry about the streaming services either. TomTom Live is all I really wanted, and that is working just fine

I bought it from a non Fiat dealer (Arnold Clark)...does that matter? Or will I need to take it to a Fiat dealer?
