Hey,

Just have a quick question. I've had a look around but I can't seem to find the exact issue.

On the way to work this morning I got the little yellow/orange triangle flash up and a 'check licence plate light' warning.
I checked when I got to work and the left hand light is fine but the right hand one is on but dimmer than the left.

I'm assuming the bulb is maybe on its way out and I just need to replace it, but I just want to check as I've never known a bulb on anything that needs changing to go dimmer. I've only seen bulbs flicker or just be completely gone. The dim bulb isn't loose or anything so just wondered if anyone thought it might be anything different before I go buying a new bulb.

Thanks :)

I had one go out.
Yellow triangle came on.

I took the cover off, and found the bulb had become dislodged, rather than the bulb blowing.

Worth checking before you buy anything.

One thing that happened to me when I was checking the bulb, was that I must have shorted something out, and it caused a flashing odometer issue.

I think the best thing you can do BEFORE looking at the bulb, is to disconnect the battery. This will make the thing safe from shorting out and causing problems. After re-connecting the battery, you'll need to reset the date and time.

Good luck,
Mick.

Thanks for your replies :)

I got a couple of new bulbs on the way home from work anyway, as I might as well change them and keep my fingers crossed that it's as simple as that. And for 19p each putting new bulbs in is not exactly going to break the bank even if there is more to it :D

I'll also have a look at disconnecting the battery as suggested before I replace them to see if that changes anything, and if it stops me potentially shorting anything out then it can't hurt even if it doesn't help :)

Thanks again everyone :)
