Hi guys, firet time posting! I have a Fiat 500 and my door handle on the drivers side (outside of the door) has become loose on one side! Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way I can fix it without it costing too much? Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome;

Haven't experienced it myself but a common problem apparently. This may assist;

Hi and welcome.

Without wishing to come across as being abrupt, merely informative, the site has an extremely good search function and you will find plenty of complaints. Also, if you google Fiat 500 door handle, you'll find plenty of links. As a Fiat 500 owner, the issue you are experiencing is sadly, common place. Having owned two 500's myself, both cars I owned, the passenger side door handle came completely off both times. Yes, it's unacceptable, it shouldn't happen, but if you don't fix yours, it will come off eventually.

The problem is so common, plenty of Fiat dealerships sell brand new door handle hinge mechanisms, so this indicates the scale of the problem. Your only option is to follow the excellent guides and advice found on this forum, or get a garage or dealership to change it for you, but clearly if you do that, they'll be a rather large cost involved!

Put it this way, last year we were changing so many of them I could change a door handle hinge in less than 3 minutes and anyone that's ever changed one will understand how much practice I had to be able to do them that quickly. We used to time each other during the week and the slowest had to buy the beers on a Friday. If your anywhere near hampshire I could fit you a new one for £40 inc the part
