Has anyone had trouble with the door lock rods popping out of the lock mechanism?

I bought new clips and they seem to fall out after a little bit of use also.

There is nothing wrong with the handle or the lock however the clip seems to small for the hole both the old and new.

Searching only reveals the infamous broken door handle hinge which my car doesn't have!

This bit on the lock is an elongated rectangley hole and the clip for the rod is round?

Are you clipping the plastic bit on the right way round? I've changed a couple of these and on one of them I actually had the rod upside down.

Just cable tied it for now it was driving me mad. I've had to turn the clip on its side in order for it to fit.

The rod orientation hasn't changed from since I've had it however the car wasn't brand new when I got it and the polystyrene is all ripped suggesting a bull in a China shop might have already attended to it.

Do you happen to have a door that you could take a picture of inside?

Have a look at about 3 minute 20 seconds, you will see the lock solenoid still fitted to the door along with the rod.

My rod is around the correct way, so no clue whats happening there.
