I have to wait a few days before rubbing down the final coat so I couldn't resist a quick test fit





If I'd only had a spare ISO cable around I would have powered up the screen!

Now for the boring bit of rubbing down and painting all the slats and smoothing the surface of the fascia and hopefully it will all be ready by the time the car arrives

I did a little work today on the fascia, I tried a different paint finish with a bit less sheen that looks like it will match the original better, then I tried a test run of the stereo using Apple CarPlay

Looking really good. Maybe with striving for the ultimate finish, you should enter into the market fully and associate it with car detailing, I reckon you would capture the market

Oooh no... Detailers go for ultra stock, and I can't not mess with things lol!

Matt looks better, if the new 500's facia is correct i.e. shiny, then you are the man to paint it matt.

From looking in parked cars windows in a dodgy looking manner and from what I remember from my test drive the fascia seems to have about the same 'shiny index' (?) as the window buttons so that's what I went for......

I'm off on holiday next week and hopefully the new one will arrive whilst I'm away ?

I received an email from my dealer today to say my car has arrived in the UK and should be here in 10-14 days ��

I'm off on holiday tomorrow night so I'm hoping to have it waiting to collect when I'm back!

A quick word of praise for Phil at Lipscombe in Maidstone, I'm sitting in my hotel room in Turkey and just sent an email asking how my delivery was looking and he replied straight away (well out of hours) to say it is due tomorrow and he should have it ready to hand over on Saturday, the day after I get back!

Loving the work so far, just in the same process. Just need to pick a head unit.

The guys at Lipscombe were really nice when I went down there.

Just beware the finish on the fascias you see on eBay are pretty rough, hence all the work...

I've got the fascia and it doesn't look that bad, but I've just bought the dash sections of eBay and will get them re-done in gloss black, just minus the 500.

Same fascia that also included the canbus cable to keep the USB port in use.
