6.8l on your other post is that miles or kms?
6.8 l/ 100 km. I was doing around 8 l /100 km before, 7.5 l/100 km at best in town. That 6.8 is from town driving mainly! Check my fuelly in the coming weeks to see the difference.

Then I wouldn't say these tyres provide great economy. My oem 15's are giving that figure when not driven economically. When I drive gentle I'm getting 4.8-5.2l per 100km.

oh and here are my tires after 42,000 km of driving, plenty of thread left but the surface far too soft.

I don't follow when you imply that the Michelins didn't wear out, but they are too soft...

Anyway Toyo are an OK brand, they have always been recognised as a budget option for Sporty drivers who will accept a higher wear rate and like an aggressive tread pattern.

Your improved economy will probably be due to having lighter tyres now (not just the width... the construction may be different) and therefore needing less energy to speed them up and slow them down. Plus the reduced rolling resistance...

well basically the thread doesnt wear out, but the surface becomes very soft if that makes sense. You can see the worn surface on my tire. I seem to believe that thread depth alone doesn't tell you whether a tire is good to drive or not.

Yes these toyo tires are improved rolling resitance with a 'C' fuel consumption rating. the Michelin were not only wider tires, but also a 'F' fuel consumption rating.

Mind you, these Toyo's are touring tires so are not agressive in terms of pattern or wear.

It depends on the model of Toyo tires that you're using. For Fiat, Toyo Proxes is recommended since it is a touring type of tires compared to other models meant for other types of vehicles like trucks and SUVs such as open country A/T.
