Hi all
Over the past year or so I have seen a few posts giving the details of good parts suppliers in the UK but I did a search and haven't beenable to find them again.
Would someonebe kind enough to advise a good service parts supplier in and I will get the service items sent out here to Oz.

We are in Brisbane and have a TwinAir Plus that is coming up for first service.
Will change at 12 months as using same oil for 2 years seems waaaay too long to my thinking.

Doesn't do "city" driving - we are rural and anytrip is minimum 15km - but usually 40km or more returned.
Will be serviced at about 24K although the service book says that it is 2 years, 30,000 km for first service.

This service requires air and pollen filter change, sparkplugs and of course the oil and oil filter.
Just got 3 prices over the phone
Worst AUD$650
Mid AUD$506
Best AUD$480 :(

Struth
Checked with our local UltraTune and he is $220 if I supply the plugs
Will just have to make sure that the oil he is going to use is the correct spec
Getting parts from Fiat here is insane and the usual spare parts suppliers don't support the 500 as there are not enough of them - YET

Thanks in advance

Bosch Service Center has many parts for the Fiat 500. I use them in Greece. They have them in Australia, check them out!
They have spark plugs, all filters, and brake discs + pads.

The oil? Yes just make sure it is the right spec but there are plenty of alternatives matching the spec so thats easy.

Hi mate, I am a Fiat 500 0.9 twin air owner coming up to same 30k service. I got 2 quotes same as you. Cheapest $480 bearable and $680 which is a joke.

Where are you located ?
Thinking I will go with UltraTune - spoke at length with the guy and he has no issues - and when all said and done all they are doing is changing the oil, filters and plugs. Not exactly an engine strip and rebuild !!

WILL make sure the oil is one that meets the specs before he starts

Just have to find the best place to get the plugs
It is hard finding a supplier in the UK who will ship to Oz

Aren't they NGK? NGK are available at repco (no doubt others too), supply the part number if the TA is not in their computer. Spark plugs aren't that speciallised, chances are the TA plugs are used in something else too.

I'd supply the oil too, the 500 only takes 3.3 litres so you'll have a lot to spare from a 5l bottle. It's not easy to get the correct certified oil here, but Autoone sell Liqui-Moly Top Tec 4100 that meets the requirements. I wouldn't trust the average mechanic to get it right, I always supply my own oil (if not doing it myself of course).

Most people in the UK use Castrol Edge, but the Australian Spec sheets don't list the Fiat approval on them.

Yes they are NGK and have been there done that ie Repco
Took the spark plug "code" and it isn't on Repco's computer
And he wasn't prepared to see if he could get it either

OK on supplying the oil

Melbourne, Essendon Fiat gave me the quote of $480 but will confirm it after the service.
Fiat Nunawading gave me the $680-700 quote.

Essendon Fiat where I got the car also threw in an extra oil stash and mentioned many times to make sure I put in the right oil for the car, so they get it in regards to the right oil type for the 500.

you know its really funny how fiat insist on using a specific type of oil but BMW gives you the option to use about 3-4 different viscosities depending on the climate you drive the car in.

Forget ULTRATUNE

Update on ULTRATUNE Beenleigh (Qld)
What a mob of thieves !! (n)

Went back to book car in for the 30k service and mysteriously the $220 was now $240
Provided I supply oil, filters and plugs. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT ?????????????
Originally I had to supply the plugs only
Oh there is a pollen filter - well in that case it will be more like $300

I pointed out that after I buy all the stuff plus his $300 it is more than the dealer wants
Just shrugged his shoulders - so my guess he figures there aren't enough 500's around to bother

Fact is my son also has a TA Lounge and would have used him as well

So another phone around

This time worst still at Springwood - now $605 down from$650
Others $595 up from $480 (Aspley), $591(NorhStar) and $530 (Cricks)
But the best of all $395 at EuroMarque in Fortitude Valley (Brisbane) (y)

So booked in for next Tuesday
Will let you know how it goes

I had a quote for £220 approximately 400 Aussie dollars for a low mileage service from Fiat so basically a pollen filter, oil filter and oil. I told them to forget it.

I bought the parts for £32, genuine Fiat oil filter, Aussie about $60. Fitted the pollen filter myself, 5 minute job. Couldn't be bothered to get under the car on a cold winters day so paid my local garage £25.

Job done total cost £57 or $AUS 100. Stamp on the book from the local garage.

The fact it doesn't have a full Fiat service history is something dealerships have dreamed up, who knows if Mr Fiat is any better than you local garage around the corner. I mean who can screw up an oil change????? Plus I watched the whole thing.

Thanks Vitesse
This is for the 30k service which includes new plugs, so that adds another £25 plus freight on the whole shebang - guessing another £40
So that's AUD$220 all up for parts plus another $40+ for oil

That leaves $120 for labor - yes, still probably expensive

But hope to get an Anniversary Abarth mid next year and sadly will have to sell the TA
Having a Fiat Dealer service looks a lot better in the service log book.
But in reality, as you said all they do is swap the filters, pull out the cork, then replace it and fill with oil - oh and plug in a laptop
Then flog it around the block - akka "test drive"
No harm in that as that's what I do anyway LOL

Just had UFI serviced by Bosch service centre (Bayswater, WA). The two year service came to $99 with me supplying the parts (with only 7000km down I elected to leave the plugs and pollen filter). It even included connection to their diagnostic computer, which can often set you back that much alone.

how were they? i exclusively use bosch service center in greece and am really happy with them. their diagnostics computers are also really advanced.

I used a Bosch Service Centre for my Abarth 500's last service, oil, filter, plugs, pollen filter and brake fluid change (plus general normal service check\adjust\lubricate), Abarth dealers quoting 600 and odd quid, 220 it cost me, and they washed it and were much more friendly and helpful, guess where it's going for it cambelt\water pump change soon..........
