Hello Fiat forum, it's been errrrm 9 years since my last post!

My good lady has just got a bog spec Fiat 500 pop and it hasn't got an aux input socket.

I've seen a cable on eBay that connect to the back of the head unit (I'll post a link in a couple of posts when I'm through the 5 post barrier!)

Just wondering if I'm barking up the right tree.

Neil.

Strange I have a 500 POP with the following:

Ebay item No. 261097728771

It works perfect, on the radio you have to click CD twice and it will take you to the AUX. As I have said it works perfectly because I use mine on a daily bases. I hope this helps.

How old is your 500 POP?

I have just purchased and fitted that very cable (before seeing this thread) to my new 2013 Fiat 500 Pop 1.2 and I'm afraid it doesn't work for me either. No matter how many times I press the CD button. It just keeps coming up with "No source available". I checked the connections against the pin-out diagram sticker and everything appears to be in the correct place; it's just no seeing it.

I might try one of these "Fiat Panda 500 Multimedia USB AUX Socket Non Blue + Me Models" (ebay item 121078067569), but it seems expensive for what it is.

Mines a 2009, they might have updated the radio since then so that might be why it's not working.

I took my head unit out and the model code is 312 SB12 and it's made by Bosch. I have seen an earlier blaupunkt unit for sale online that is model code 312 SB05. So I would agree that this latest Bosch unit doesn't have the functionality. I don't suppose you know the model code for your unit?

I'll have a look in the morning and find the code.

I went out yesterday to take the radio out but I couldn't find the things to pull it out, so I'll order some new ones and will do it ASAP. Also I'm 99% sure the radio is a Blaupunkt.

Wow! That is above and beyond the call of duty. I can't thank you enough for your help with this.

Hope you don't mind me asking - the things to pull it out ??
Should these be supplied with the car (new) ??

Haven't got any strange looking bits in the paper envelope that came with the car, apart from the spare non remote key and the key and radio codes

Could you post a pic ? No idea what they even look like

TIA

The radio removal tools are not supplied with the car as new; they look like two horseshoe shaped tools.

Thanks for your quick replies
At least nothing is missing - but a dumb question
Where would you, rather I, get these ?
Are they car or radio specific or are they a new generic device ?

Stop press - the marvels of the 'net

Did a quick search and found this http://www.mobileinformationlabs.com/How%20To%20Guides/Tools/HowTo-_tools_page_stereo_removal_tools_part_2_.htm
and this http://www.fiat500owners.com/forum/26-fiat-500-diy-section/3843-2012-fiat-500-radio-removal.html

I have a lathe and a cupboard full of coat hangars, so will give it a go

Thanks again for showing the way(y)

I only buy tools when I need them. But if you're bored and fancy turning some up, go for it.

I've owned my car for just over 2 years and not felt the need to take the head unit out (yet). The suspension has been apart, though!
