Can someone tell me if locking the car manually with the key will engage the immobiliser? I'm sure that it should but as you don't get the same visible warning that you get when you use the RCL I just wondered if it was just working the central locking system.
On my Accord I have two electronic fobs but if you use the key to lock the door you still get the flashing indicators warning tell tale to let you know all was well with the world.
As I usually put the car away at night and I use the spare key to lock the car I just wondered if I was not doing it properly.

immobiliser operates by transponder in key, nothing to do with remote.

I was pretty certain that was the case but it's always good to get confirmation by someone in the know. I think it was just the fact that the indicators don't flash when you lock it with the key that made me uncertain.

indicators flash as visual confirmation that locking has taken place via remote fob. Not really needed when you use key.
