I reckon this 500 must have been traveling at Mach 1 when he hit the brakes :)

Maybe similar to what happened to my uncle in his bambino in the good old days. He was being towed by my dad and coming up to an almost red light, dad decided to keep going in the 6 cylinder Valiant, while my uncle hit the brakes, thinking he would stop. The Valiant went on regardless and the smoke off the tyres of the 500 were the only indication that 500 was trying to slow down...

Stirring a few memories here. A local lad had a Fiat 126 Brown which broke down so he pushed it onto the front lawn under a tree at his family home. I offered to buy the car but he said he wanted to fix it himself. Some time went by and out of the blue I got a phone call one Sunday morning asking me if I still wanted the Fiat as he would deliver it. Of course I said and an hour or so later the car arrived being towed by a powerful Volvo estate. It seemed that a rusting little car covered in green mould was not quite the sort of thing that a Harley Street Surgeon and his wife wanted on their front lawn :)
It was Mothering Sunday and this jesture was the young man's present to his Mum. Apparently the seized brakes freed off after about the first mile or so but the tyres were a bit similar to the one above.
