Hi Folks

Just about to tackle the inside of my fuel tank. Firstly, what size is the 500-F tank (in volume)? And out of interest and since I have a spare one, what size is the 500-D?

I plan to rattle some stones around inside with petrol, then wash out with POR15 Marine Clean and Prep Ready. Then coat with POR15 Tank Sealer.

How does this sound? Anyone got any special techniques for this?

I put a bag of fish bowl stones in and power hosed them about at the local car wash. It did a great job, emptied out and when dry hoovered the last few out ! I should have put a sealer inside at the time, I was more concerned with repairing a leak, maybe try again next summer.

As Haynes says...21 litres, 4.5 (UK) gallons.
As for the early tanks ? Half that?
