Technical Ducato 2.8 won't start

I'm afraid this is now well over my head I'm not afraid to throw some money at this problem the trouble is finding somebody competent to come take a look .. any suggestions ????

I think the p1671 code relates to the solenoid regulation valve on the high pressure pump or it's wiring.
If the regulation solenoid valve is not working no fuel will enter the high pressure pump .
See my post #19. It seems that only 100 Bar without electrical input, and ECU does not allow injection below 120 Bar.

I have been researching Fiat eLearn, for 2.8jtd, and where better written that for the 2.0jtd, both of which use the Bosch EDC 15C7 ECU.

The ECU has to have several conditions satisfied, before injection is allowed. One condition is that fuel pressure is greater than 120 Bar, another is that the hp pressure regulator must be "seen" by the ECU. (The ECU shuts down if electric regulator valve is not detected.)
Without a supply to the hp regulator valve the hp pump output is restricted to 100 Bar.

Relay T9 is described as the main injection relay, so starting cannot take place until it is operated. It is not clear to me whether the ECU inhibits injection via T9, or more directly by internal connections, but either way we need T9, and the hp regulator to be seen by the ECU.

I could have arrived at an incorrect conclusion. Helpful comments are welcome.
Is it to much of a leap to think that this could also be applicable to later models. In my case im thinking x290 for which theres no documentation to check. Or is the x250 wildly different to the 244? Sorry its early morning i cant sleep or turn on pc to check.

Bit concerned about the battery voltage in diagnostic report.
Has system been tested with a suitable fully charged battery, to first double check the immobiliser sequence is working correctly and then see if it spins over fast enough.
The original battery may have suffered from the cold weather and no amount of "trickle charging" will make an improvement
Generally a modern diesel will start very quickly and not need flogging over many times, however if battery is old and not holding a good charge the voltage may quickly drop to a point where the ECU cannot function correctly.

I need the services of an auto electrician/mechanic in or around the northwest who is both mobile and competent any recommendations welcome

This is what's currently showing up both before and after replacing pump ln fuel tank.

The first 2 codes are the problem.
Nether of which have anything to do with the in tank pump.

P0215 description on that code reader is not very clear.....I think it refers to the main injection relay.

I now see the codes have already been covered earlier in this thread . I didn't instantly recall this thread so just answered what I saw in latest post.

Fingers xed the op finds a decent mechanic to help him.

It's an absolute nightmare trying to somebody who is both honest and knowledgeable.
I really don't care to much about the price of the repair because at the moment it's twenty grands worth off scrap sitting outside my house depreciating away

Surely this U1600 error code relating to immobiliser needs fixing first.
As mentioned in earlier thread."Not helping with battery voltage low, but seem to be as suspected immobiliser /key issues.
Did diagnostic bloke make any suggestions?"
If that is the problem there are several companies that can remove that from your ECU if sent to them, I had it done on an Iveco over 10 years ago on a Bosch MS 6.3 from memory, it cost me £137 including postage.

I'm now looking for practical help in the form of an honest knowledge mechanic who would like to come along and take some of my money in exchange for fixing what is rapidly becoming my largest garden ornament.
Any recommendations ????

My advice is if unable to find a good mechanic, would be to show/tell a reputable ECU specialist the latest codes read on the AUTEL tool in particular, if that code read was recent, the "U1600 electronic key code not received" one and asking him how much to program the immobiliser out of the ECU and what instructions you need to follow.
In my case I gave the company the details of the Bosch ECU, he then told me what to disconnect regarding the parts that talk to the ECU, then after disconnecting the battery I carefully unplugged the ECU and posted it to him. I included protection against loss in post that covered a new ECU at the time just in case, this was on an 04 Iveco Daily 2.8 JTD basically the same Sofim engine design as yours, total cost was around £137 inc. postage against Iveco Dealers over £1000 if I towed it to them over 30 miles away!!! So I was well pleased with the result.
This was several years ago and I am sure there are many ECU specialists around these days capable of doing that job.
One point you may wish to consider is the lack of an immobiliser insurance wise, unless the ECU company can program everything to match or supply the "chip" for your keys, I am not sure about that side My vehicle was only worth around £4000, not £20,000.;););)

Hello there I live on Merseyside and have a sick 2004 2.8 Ducato motorhome any recommendations for a local mobile diagnostic/mechanic to come along and diagnose/repair.
There appears to be no fuel getting to the filter which I replaced after the vehicle wouldn't start.
any help much appreciated
fault codes p1671 and p0215 show up on odbc scanner

There has been mention of a code of U1600..
Is this still active?
