Technical Scudo 2010 Gear box swap

Hi , I`ve got a Scudo 2010 1.6 with a 20DP35 box,and I`m swapping the noisy box while the clucth and cv joint are being replaced. I`ve got a 20ET39 box from a 2016 1.6 Expert/Dispatch which fits but the actuating arm on the top selector is cranked the other way, the old arm has been fitted . Gears 1-4 work but 5 and reverse don`t select. Has anyone else swapped a later edition box over? Is the "gate" layout different? Old box 5 is top right ,reverse is a long pull bottom right.
