Bought my dream off ebay. Mistake.

Apart from various things which have cost lots to put right the exhaust has had it and the manifold needs replacing at the same time as it's cracked right the way round.
CASCU can't help. No stock for months.
It's going to cost a fortune in labour charges anyway and the MOT is due soon and all the brake pads, shoes, discs etc need doing. Had the exhaust welded up and it was holding OK. Had a couple of months left in it until:
Cowboy 'exhaust specialists' said they could do the all in one ( sports ) butgot the wrong thing and before I realised had wrecked my old exhaust breaking off two studs ( now will have to be drilled out)
They jammed the old one back on and the car is now undriveable. Can't get to work etc so desperately trying to find best economical solution.
Nice good mechanic will do it once I get parts but where?? Help!

Don't know were you are in country but there used to a place in Batley that moved to Huddersfield, they did mail order, Will have a look for address/name when I get home......might take a couple of hours though

For what it is worth the cost of getting a new manifold made is not prohibitive - certainly not cheap but it can certainly be done without breaking the bank.

Sadly the original manifolds are very prone to snapping studs off - even the best of exhaust fitters is likely to break one. The difference is that the good ones will get new studs fitted! I would offer you the manifold I have but Trissy has laid dibs on it.

A ready made CSC system is likely to be cheaper that getting a new one made if you can find one quickly. You may want to invest in something to protect the alternator from the heat though - having the exhaust run directly underneath it doesn't do much for longevity!

If I'm not mistaken these guys also trade under the name "X1/9 files".

A hearty recommendation, its worth a trip to see them just to root through the masses of spares they have. Row upon row of dead exxies/uno's in poly tunnels. A sadly surreal experience. I would almost guarantee they will have your part at a very reasonable price. Discounts offered if you are in the owners club.
p.s.I managed to blag a passenger seat in Steve's car for a few laps around Castle Combe a few years ago. Truely terrifying.
He also brought an old L (72)reg exxy with a 1.9TD engine in it. Unique yes but no accounting for taste;)
