i am in Napoli myself now funnily enough and viewing this on my phone so cannot easily view the links or check things at home- will do so on my return.
No AC on my car BUT as i am trying to fit the second cooling fan per AC cars, i might have to post a new thread for the wiring for that;unless you can tell me:
1 are both fans fed from one relay? if not how? how best to convert a non ac wired car to operate two fans?
2 what gauge is the feed cable?
3 is the alternator of a higher spec merely because of the need to operate two fans?
partially no in the sense that the holiday season and then a very heavy workload and then poor weather has stopped the experimentation but partially yes in the sense that i replaced the (missing, on separation of the joint) exhaust gasket at the collector flange and ran the car at idle for 45 mins (before a voluntary shutdown) without the car overheating or idling roughly and with 2-3 cycles of the rad fan cutting in and then out. (One of the theories i had was that the fan motor was causing a heavy electrical drain in use and now this has been partially discounted.
I also changed the spark plugs and checked the carb filter whilst at it.
However, I am not totally happy or trusting yet and was going to update the thread with all the things done...er that is when i do them! That twill follow when i move the project forward.
i am hoping that the escape of hot exhaust gasses in the engine bay made things too hot for the fuelling and/or the electrics but as yet, i am not convinces without more trials.
