Hello,

In my attempt to update and make my 1989 X1/9 a little bit more retro I had in mind of fitting the gear lever nob from the 1980ish to my car.
Is it as I would think just a screw on or doesn't it fit at all?

IF it will fit, anyone knows or have one for sale?

many thanks

Uffe

Cannot recall for definate about the later cars as mine is a 1300 but IIRC the final X1/9's had a 'stubbier' gear-lever. The lever rod could well be the same though just shorter - there is no reason why it would have been changed but yes they all just screw on. Most people actually hated that knob as felt it was uncomfortable - it was known as the Paddle as it looked like something you would use in a canoe. I quite liked it in the cars I had with it...... The trick was to put the ball of your palm on the 'numbers' graphic then wrap your fingers around the side.

I am looking for the small metal domed retainer ring that holds the gear lever in place. This is for a 1989 1275 but I think that they are all the same.
Can anyone help me out please?
John
