Hello all - My Fiat X1/9 "Clara" needs a new nose-cone (the section between the headlights) Are these easily removable or is this a bodyshop job?

With a bit on drilling,grinding and welding should not be to bad to do,if you have a spot welder that would make life a lot easier.

The pictures show that you can spot weld along the front and along the back and sides you can drill and plug weld
If you take the bonnet, headlights and bumper off you will see the spot welds you need to drill or grind out

Shaun, I am very grateful for your reply. Since postage is so expensive these days, and because the part is of a significant size, I think I will try to find a 'breaker' here in South Africa. I don't have a spot welder, but would ask a panel beater to do that for me, or even consider bonding after painting. You've given me the courage to go ahead at least! Best regards, Dave
