I'm having difficulty finding REAR shocks for 1978, 1300, 4 gear X1/9.
Is it possible to refill and re-seal at all please?

The 1300 should have removable inserts, just unscrew the top cap of the damper tube and remove the cartridge inside. Golf/Rabbit inserts are a popular replacement but check that you have the right dampers to start with and check on xweb for which models fit as replacements. Later 1300s are a bit of mix and match so it can be pretty hard to predict what components you have.
