After running into aero issues last year I opted to use a big bore busa motor (1507cc @248 whp) and debute the giant killer 650 WHP 1.3 busa motor next year.
The car handled great this year (clearly what ever the problem was last year was fixed, I changed about 30 things that all could have been part or a whole of the root problem) and firmly set 2 landspeed records. We have already begun to get the car ready for next year.
It is our goal to go 230+mph with the turbo motor, de-tuned to around 400 HP. It is also our goal to go faster than the record currently held by the next engine displacement class, in all classes we run the car. This year we got 1 (over the 2.0 motor about 3 mph) and were within 1 of the other. Our motor was running a bit lean so we opted to not risk the motor and really open it up. This is my only regret of this years speedweek. I am confident that the car would of done 185-190mph on the long.
