Mine does about 50 mpg driving to and from work, mostly dual carriageway/ motorway at 60-80 mph, that's about 400 miles on a tank.

Drive nicely, over a long trip you should get some great mpg. So we recon a tank and a half, maybe less if you stay under 65mph.

My diesel saxo did 71mpg on the last tank, though i spend a lot of the time at 65 on the motorway.

What a contrast to my driving habits in the uno!

Thats probably twice as much as the turbo, does anyone know what the fuel consumption is for the turbo's i know its better than my golf as the misses lent it last week and she moaned about it, but it is a 2l 16v 188 bhp great mpg on the move and motorways but doesn't like traffic as much anyway the uno will be getting a good check over next week ie clutch flywheel and fuelling, and i'l stick the probe up the golfs arsse while i'm at it Ant!

I've personally managed an average of 7.6L/100km in my Turbo, that's 37mpg, driving at average speeds. Driven gently on a long trip, I've had even better economy: see https://www.fiatforum.com/uno-technical/70100-fuel-economy-record-uno-turbo.html (6.1L/100km - 46 mpg! - 372 miles on a tank.)

300 miles is 500km, so yes I think the Uno 1.0i.e. will easily do this on a full tank.

My carbed 45 did 5,5 l/100 km on a freeway yesterday, constant speed 130 km/h, I was the only person in the car.
When fully loaded, it does 6,25 l/100 km on the freeway.
The volume of the gas from full till the light goes on is about 32 l on my car, i.e. the range of 500 - 600 km is very realistic.
There are still some 6 - 7 liters available in the tank after the light switches on (theoretical volume of the tank is 40 l, but I am not sure whether or not it is fully useable).
I tried the range on this reserve once with a full 10-l jerry-can ready, and it was at least another 150 km.

thanks for all ur help i don't go away till may so i'll post my results when i get back
