rite all, something that most of you turbo loving people will know about
from my other topic you can see that i might be getting a 87 1.3 standard spec turbo.
what i want to know is.... has any body got info on best modifications, cost, practicality etc..
and also where the mod's are availible from.
cant wait to hear someresults
thanks all

alright mate, the first things i would do is get a in car adjustable boost and set it to 14psi, full scorpion exhaust system, induction kit and a dump valve. with these few mods u'll be noticing a deffinate increase in performance. get it lowered as the uno isn't the best handling car around, g-max do a 60mm slam kit with is very good vfm and is from demon tweeks.

try www.turbocollective.co.uk as this is a uno turbo website and you will be able to pick up stuff second hand off there. they are a good bunch of lads and will be very happy to help u mate.

if ur wanting to take it further then the arbarth steel billet cam, piper pully, lightened/balanced flywheel, polished ported head, uprated headgasket(spresso one from demon tweeks is good), hybrid turbo, uprated clutch (if goin for big power as standard one is very good up to a point) and some decent plugs and leads. the list if endless, get urself a demon tweeks catalogue, find the stuff u want in there for ur car and then serch for it on the net as u will deffo find it cheaper :) hope this helps.

heres a list of my mods to give u an idea of what i've done to mine(its a mk2 1.4 one tho!)

T2 Hybrid turbo
HUGE Volvo Front Mounted intercooler
scorpion exhaust
induction kit
polised/ported/skimmed head
lightened/balanced flywheel
spresso racing headgasket
arbarth steel billet cam
piper pully and belt
slightly larger forged pistons
spitfire plugs
spitfire leads
in car adjustable boost
saab 9000 turbo injectors
5th injector with controller
fse boost valve
dump valve
a couple of samco hoses
boost controller
fse uprated race fuel pump
black diamond uprated clutch

and thats all i can think of at the mo!!! prob other bits and bobs somewhere!!! [:p]

anyway, u'll love ur uno turbo mate, even as standard :D

thanks mate,
do you have any problems with your car running all that power, ive never really given a car that much modding??? also, do you like the sound of a project 1.3 uno for 250 squid or wot, as soon as i got the money i got the car... just trying to find a place to keep it tho......

I have dynoed 247 hp in a 1.3l with standard block, crank, rods, pistons and headgasket.. If you tune it right , it wont have to cost a fortune..

Fiat uno 1.3l 247 hp
Fiat x1/9 2.0 16v turbo
Fiat x1/9 original

for real... can you give any clues on how you did this , im not looking to go that mad yet but maybe soon... ummmmmm
wouldnt having the boost at 14psi damage the engine, thats why i thought there was a boost reg set at 0.9 psi?

nah, don't have any probs mate with mine (touch wood) cos i'm not running mental boost. a standard engine and turbo will run 1 bar 14.7psi) all day long no probs, but i'd prob set it to 13-14psi just to give a little safety margine :)

as for geting the car mate, deffo get it....£250!!! go buy!

I believe the confusion has occured due to comparisons between bar and psi....read again carefully and all will be understood.
