Got my previous Uno back.
There was a break-in attempt on the driver's side. The lock no longer works. That can just be changed. Different key, but that's fine.

But also, the criminals had attempted to force the door from the top just where it bends, and now the door's bent. My finger fits in the gap, can't go all the way through, but water can definately leak through if it's raining.

Would a bodyshop knock the door panel back, or should I look for a new door from a scrap yard and have that fitted instead?
What about the window and winding mechanism, transfer or will that come with the door?

Alright mate first of all sorry to hear about that, i know how it feels as its happened to me myself in the past. Basicly you should be able to bend it back into place, if you cant do it yourself get somebody else to help you, you'll probably find that the paint will begin to crack and chip off where its been bent but its better than having to change the whole door. As for the lock there is a plastic bar which connects the mechanism together my guess is that this has broken off as thats what happened to my one, all you will need is this bit to repair the lock again. I got that bit from a scrappy, didnt even have to change the lock just fitted that bit on and hey it was fine again. Does it still open and lock from the inside?

Thanks mate.

I'll try bending the door back tomorrow. The car will be off the road for a couple of weeks (needs V55/5 forms stuff doing).

Does it still open and lock from the inside?
Yeah. From the outside the key simply spins 180 degrees in the barrel.
I'll try the scrap yard.
Do I need to take out the lock unit to get to the plastic bar? Does anything other than the door trim need to be removed?
Can't check it out now, too dark.

If anyone else happens to have one around going spare I'll pay you for it.

If its the plastic bar which has broken as was on mine you dont need to remove the lock from the door but it is quite a fiddly thing to replace as there isnt much space there to work around. Basicly just remove your door card, you might wanna remove the passenger one as well just to see how the mechanism works although its pretty simple really, you will probably see the white plastic bar still attached from one side with the other side broken off.
The white plastic bar acts like a sort of pivot, you have to click it into the two metal parts of the lock but be careful not to break it as they arent that strong mate. I found spraying a bit of wd40 into it first made it easier to click it into place.
