General UNO 999 cc temperature question

Hi All,

My UNO (bought brand new in 1996) has done approx 32000 KMs. In the past few months, the temperature guage indicates more than the mid point, which never used to happen. Every 5 minutes or so, the fan comes on and blows.
The service folks here (really bad service for Fiat cars) say this is not a problem. However, I am not convinced.
What should I do to get the car temperature back to what it was when new?

Check the water level is the first thing to do.

Try flushing the radiator through til the water runs clear then top up with anti-freeze/coolant ???

It might be the thermostat that is stuck in somewhat closed position preventing cooled water to reach the engine. Easy to replace and cheap. Righthand side of engine.
