I've finally got hold of my lady's digicam and decided to take a couple of shots of my Uno for your viewing pleasure. Just two short comments before: First of all, the pics are not of a high enough quality (to decrease loading time) and secondly, the lighting was not optimal so these pics don't do the car any justice. Just in case you were wondering, the car's colour is Abyss Blue which is a kind of dark green with a bluish tinge. In any case, I'll leave you to the pics :D

Any comments (about anything really) are more than welcome. Enjoy!

hey rod,
finally some pics.hehe.I like your uno. Looks in really good nick. I am personally not too fond of the black grill however. Also, your sig says that the car is abyss blue but to me it looks green. Is this so or is the photos which are decieving?

Another question if you dont mind me asking! Are those the original FIAT uno gof lights or you fitted some universal ones? I am asking as they seem to be longer than usual and cant make out how they actually are.

Next thing you should do is alloys or at least wider tyres. You'll be amazed how much the handling improves.

Hi Rodmallia!

I love your Uno :)

I'm not sure what 'gof' lights are, dunno what Drinu's talking about
oh hang on, maybe he means 'fog' lights...

Your digital camera, ummm, sucks. ;) The resolution is plenty high enough (pictures are large) but the camera focus just isn't there! It doesn't seem to be focussed on anything - the background is a blur as well. And the light areas of the picture have washed-out. I know the sunshine is really bright there, and it looks like the camera just can't cope. Would you care to share the brand and model? :)

As for the angle/composition of the pics, great - and the preparation of the car, fantastic. What do you use on the bumpers? Have you repainted those wheel covers - they're very nicely silver!

First of all thanks for the comments :) Your eyesight is perfectly normal Drinu - don't worry. The colour is in fact more on the greenish side, although as I said it is listed as 'abyss blue'. I would swear it is green myself... ah well

I'm not too sure if they are the original fog lights since I didn't fit them myself. But I'll try to find out and let you know.

Yes I'm pretty sure that would improve the ride as well as the aesthetics. I would consider alloys and wider tyres if I can manage to find ones with a good price. Yours look really great in my opinion (y)

Thanks! So do I! :D

It's an HP Photosmart E317 5.0 MP. Usually it takes some really crisp pictures so that's pretty strange  I've used it a million times with some great results. Heck I've also taken a couple of lovely portraits today

UPDATE: I found out by my dear missus that the camera is set to 'portrait-mode' - no wonder everything is out of focus. Serves me right for not checking the settings first :bang:  This means that my little 'un will be having another photoshoot tomorrow after I get home from University. :D

Cheers! Thanks for the comments. Actually those wheel covers aren't painted at all - they're just washed thoroughly with soap and water. :p As for the bumpers (I believe I said this on another thread) I rub a few drops of clean vegetable oil once every fortnight or more, depends if the colour has faded or not. The oil brings back the blackness of the bumper and also gives it a nice shine.

Sure, I would certainly love to see them! :)

Nice and clean Uno rodmallia (y) And I like the colour too! It's a bit like 'British Racing Green', though some better pics should show it up more.

Just thought, if it was a diesel Uno you could use vegetable oil for the bumpers and also run the engine on it too :D Only problem is that it would smell like a chip shop!

Do you have any more plans for it other than wheels/ tyres?

Should hopefully take some more picture later on today when I get home. I'll make sure to set the mode to the correct one this time :)

Sure thing! That would smell awful! :D

First of all I would like to get a pair of clear side-repeaters and colour-code the side mirrors, the bumpers (just the bottom part), the FIAT and UNO badges at the back and possibly the front grille (any suggestions on how I can mod that? color? style?).

Next on the list would probably be the interiors; possibly change the two front seats which have been damaged when I had an accident last Summer. Most of the money that I had was spent on repairing the two side doors and column so I don't really have too much left to spend with me being a poor student and all. In any case I'm sure a trip to the scrappy might sort that out. I was also thinking of colouring the roof and door panels a light grey and get some nice seat covers as well. Was considering changing the gear knob and putting on a nice gaiter but I'm not too sure about that - the all-plastic gear is a bit old-school but I'm not sure if I'll miss it once it's gone. So I'm still thinking that out.

Someday I would also like to fit a nice fishtail - nothing too over the top - and perhaps lower the car a bit some 30-40 mm. Will have to see how low I can go without changing the springs. When on a tight budget it is a bit difficult to mod your car tastefully. So things will have to go a bit slow for now.

Anyone might suggest some cheap mod?

Excellent :) 15 hours on, I was wondering how you'd react to my rather rude comment, didn't want to doubt your choice of camera really (though, you did ask for opinions and I tend to speak-my-mind!)
Yeah, that 'portrait mode' will certainly put everything out of focus except the person just in front of the camera ;)

Ah yes, so it was your advice. A lot cheaper than all the special products too!

It's tricky to suggest a suitable low-cost modification. I think the lowering that you suggested is a good idea. I believe the very-cheapest way to do this is to have the standard springs re-set (I've heard of this being done, but I haven't seen it myself). You can easily lose 30mm off the ride height of an Uno without it looking out-of-place, though there is a compromise (of course) in ride quality. I decided that the ride quality wasn't much to write home about anyway!

Nothing else springs to mind at the moment (if you'll excuse the pun) but there's always engine-swaps to think about... ;) depending on what other FIATs you have lying around in Malta.

Thats nice and shiny rod, looks like your taking good care of her, is it your first car?, i can remember how proud i was of my first car a datsun violet 140j he he!! great engine rwd, it just disintegrated around me, if you sat in the back you could see the rear wheel spinning around, and once changing a flat i threw the spare in the boot only for it to land on the road ha ha!! not so funny for my mate who put a bag of clothes in there and by the time we got to wales only the strap off the bag was left, i seem to have had a few cars with the same corrosion maybe i like it, anyway nice uno keep up the good work!! ANT!
