:( Hey,

this thread is here bcoz i am unable to solve my problem using the previous thread.

My engine head is open now and there was some serious oil leaks in cylinder 3 &4, which i'll fix tomorrow.all new oil seals for valves and seals, gaskets and carburettor packing, jets, filters etc etc has been purchased.

Now the objective of this thread is : can anyone gimme a detailed ideA of cleaning and adjusting /changing jets of a webber 32TLF/250 carburettor ?
i have a haynes manual, but i am not so clear of the instructions which i got from it...

Any experienced members - pls help me sort this out..would be a great help for me..

Problem is described detaily in my prev.thread,so i dont think i should repeat it..

should i use NC thinner for cleaning the carb ?

any special instructions/hints/tips ???

any help would be gladly appreciated..

I never knew u r still on this forum !!!

I thought u r long back gone away as u now own another car -

Any way,if u can help me out, that would be nice..

Well my cylinder head is open now,and the valve seals are being replaced..

carb is cleaned thoroughly and changed all the jets and gaskets, now need to complete the head work and just want to check the carb ;

Any way u can still advise the correct settings for a webber 32tlf/250 carb.

Hi premrajeev,

Sorry but even after some thought, I can't think of anything helpful to say at this stage... you're being a bit vague? Clean the carburettor with carburettor cleaner, a toothbrush, and compressed air.

The Haynes manual has all the relevant settings; it's all that I'd be going on myself. In particular set the float level as it says. There's not much else to set! The choke/fast idle can be adjusted when the engine is running again; no need to set it as in Haynes (using a drill bit to set the throttle plate opening) unless you really want to.

So I hope you have it together and running soon...

:p :p :p

he heh..yes a bit lazy last week.

yes got the carb cleaned, and had kept it for refit the next day, when i was asleep, my friend came in and refitted it..so never managed to set the flot levels!!:bang:

So my question is : what are the consequences of a wrongly set float ?

I have changed the needle valve and all the gaskets now, but float is (probably) out of alignment..

The probs with the car is only a slight jerk on all the gears, on the start position of accelrator pedal..something odd ??
