Right it appears you cant remove as much as i wanted to with a lot of confidence without moddeling it on FEA or some other package i dont have access to so i went a little crazy!

We've machined off the metal where the clutch cover bolts to, up until the the point where it meets the threads. Ultimately this section of metal is a bog heavy spacer and can be lost. What i have to do now, or should i say what Taff has to do now, is make some blocks or spacers to mount the cover onto!

I tell the though children it aint half flippin light, Est under 4kg!

I'm dropping of my clutch cover on friday so he can get to work, if my heads in gear i'll remember my scales and let you kow the exact weight.

My flywheel and clutch is still sat in the garage! i was supposed to have fitted it over the festive but i got carried away with the break, iv'e collected loads of bits and need to pull my finger out, tried to buy an Ht lead (coil to dizzy yesterday as i bought new leads and no coil lead? anyway its frekkin 47 inches long bloke in the shop said i'm wrong so flipped the bonnet and made him look a twwatt!, also picked up a new set of sparks tripple electrode ngks as the old ones were 6 years old and they only had one electrode, wrong ones maybe? sounds like your doing some job on that fly! Ant!

I bet you loved making him eat humble pie!

I ate too much to move over the holiday, and sod going out in manky weather, though hang on, you dont have that excuse! ;)

I'm glad i didn't put a time scale on my project, i would have got it very wrong!!

I have a concern about the blocks to seat the cover on, not heard of it being done before but in principle its straight forward.

I'll be getting the fly balanced with the cover in place as it contributes now to quite a substantial percentage of the overall weight.

I also have been well fed and drunk loads, good job i'm of till monday. when i bought the uno i never put a time of completion on it, and ended up 3.5 years in the end, i only finished it when i promised it her for her birthday, but that carried over a little bit (2 months) Twwaatt! ended up bday + xmas combined and she got wheels and a ring! cant remember what i got it was that good he he. get him to make a spacer like a wheel one out of alluminium or steel, press a piece of card over the bog heavy spacer, mark, cut out, replicate in correct thickness of preffered metal, he'l know what he's doing, your taking double what i had removed, was 7ish now 5ish he said i'l be impressed, i cant wait WhhhoooSLIIIIIIPTSHH! WhoooSLIIIIIPtshh!! Ant!

I like your style of thinking re big washer type thing. Talking of rings it would be like a giant ring, much the same obviously towhat was removed, just thinner, maybe hollow and out of ally...hmmm

Oh no, another complainer! Go and have a therapeutic private-message to Chas, will ya?!

Good point Prem but I think in this case, Ants is VERY excited and we have to make allowances, plus he's not exactly trying to help a 'newbie' so I think it's excusable in this case? ;) we've had much worse, usually from people who txt spk in thre 1st post an neva cum bak...

I was a bit confused by who the Uno Turbo was promised to ("i only finished it when i promised it her for her birthday") but that's OK because it was basically a chat between Tom and Ant anyway :)

PS. when he says 'were from different sides of the world' he means 'we're', and some of the other words like 'Twwaatt' might be hard to translate - LOL
