Hi guys

I've found this forum very useful over the past year in keeping my 1988 Uno 999cc FIRE on the road, and I was hoping I could trouble you guys with a problem I'm currently having.

I recently decided that I was overdue for a new fuel filter and in the process of changing it found that the hoses were shot and replaced them too. Unofrtunately I now have fuel leaking from the fuel pump, which is of the mechanical type. It seems that a couple of the pins which the fuel hoses attach to have worked loose of the body of the pump. Does anyone know of a safe way to resecure them? Or am I better off trying to track down a replacement fuel pump from somewhere? Are they hard to come by?

Thanks

Kyle

if its a crack in the cast or a component casting then just get a replacement

Pics would be useful if you have acesses

There are no visible cracks in either the pump housing or the metal tubes that slot into it. They seem to slot back in with quite a tight fit, but are no longer 'fuel-tight'. Perhaps there was some sort of sealing compound that has worn away?

Anyway I made some calls today and have managed to get a new one on order. For a little over £10, I guess it's not worth the hassle or risk of messing around with the old one.

Thanks for your help.
