Further to my ignition module update.
The module still gets very hot but engine runs fine now.
I have now noticed a clicking sound coming from what I think is the coil,( it is the updated version I think small unit square in shape) the unit where the middle lead on the dizzy cap leads to.
Is this normal or could it be the root of my recent probs?
Alex you mentioned this as a possible link and since you must have Italian blood in your veins I am leaning towards your advice.
Thanks
Pete

It could be your fuel pump (and can give the same problems - took me ages to work that one out on my old rally car).
Or it could be one of the HT leads arching, run the engine at night and watch for any sparks.

Sorry, I haven't been here for a few days, too busy racing my Uno Turbo and then getting my computer back etc. from the track afterwards (it was used for the timing!)

It sounds like a mechanical problem at the coil to me, Pete... loose on the former or something... I would be arranging a spare if I was you... ;)

Unfortunately I don't have any Italian blood (being English and American :)) but if I did, it would make my driving better, I'm sure!

SuperUno suggests a good check there (looking for fireworks in the dark), not sure if he means the mechanical or electric fuel pump? I'm guessing that yours is mechanical.

Yes i meant mechcanical, as they can fail but still work when cold and low revs, but cut out at odd times. Took me ages to trace the fault to the fuel pump. Got an almost new one less than 1K miles at home, let me knwo if you need it.
