I just bought an F reg fiat Uno 60S 1.1 5 door. It has two enormous speakers fitted into the back parcel shelf. Could any one tell me where the original speakers went? There's no sign of a place for them up front. I'm not keen on these speakers.

the speakers appear to go in the dash under the air vents at knee level

Met Cognac 99 Brava 100 HSX, wish it'd clean itself!

yeah there is a set of speakers that go inside the dash at the front. at knee level on each side of the car. there is a little grill. they are behind these. there is also place in the back at the sides of the parcel shelf. in the plastic bits holding up the parcel shelf. there is also a little grill on these.

You just can't imagine how awfully poor the originals are.

Morten.

abarth alloys, steering wheel. inter alloy lowering. phoenix gold audio. refurnish.

projects: induction. seats. exhaust. tinting.

there's a sort of pattern of holes in the dash right below the heater vents. quite small and weedy speakers!

yeah the originals are awful... they can be replaced with a suitable set of 4"/10cm speakers. or if your interested I can sell you a set of 2 adaptors so you can fit 5" speakers in there

As your uno is an F reg it'll be a mk 1, These don't have speaker mounts under the dash, I've got a feeling that there's only 1 space for a speaker in the door bin

maybe the massive speakers are there for a reason then!

Met Cognac 99 Brava 100 HSX, wish it'd clean itself!

My Mk2 had speaker mountings either side of the rear shelf (in the plastic bits), does the Mk1 have something similar?

I think that explains why the car had two speakers rattling loosly in the door bins when I got it! Looks like it's the drill & superglue coming out at the weekend. I can't find speaker mountings or anything. Thought I was going mad!

I got an MK1 (f reg)
When I got it there were no speakers in the rear, there were, however, on each parcel shelf support (left and right of parcel shelf) 2 grilles mounted in, each one for a 4" driver.
Up front right at the very front of the door pockets were 4" drivers screwed onto small plastic half-boxes with no backs, these were, and are s**t, 2 watts rms 5 watts max power, 160hz-10,000hz, i upgraded to
5" blaupunt AL-120
Longmill tweeters on-dash (glued them on there)
2x sony 6x9s in rear shelf
3x 10" subwoofers
you shut the doors and you could hear the bonnet and boot lid rattling, well thats what a FIAT is all about...

Well Aj36 I think you've explained why I've got the enormous speakers on the back shelf, never mind eh! Turn up that volume!! [8D]
