Looks like she MAY be going after just 3 weeks of ownership :(

I wont be selling her just yet but it may be on the cards in the near future.

Reason? I just cant afford it :(

TBH when i got it I expected the insurance quote to be near to the MK1 insurance but it is £300 a year more! and I just cant afford it with the summer and holiday and stuff coming up. I can just afford it at the moment but I never have any money to spend on myself. Plus the petrol costs per week and im skint! I put in £10 every 2 days and thats only if I use it to work and back. if I use it afterwork too it gets stupid expencive :(

Plus I want to go back to college to finish/restart the course I didnt finish the first time round which completly rules out turbo ownership :( Im gutted to say the least.

I love the car to bits but having a 1.4 turbo on your first policy on your own isnt a good idea :(

I wont be selling this because I want to. Ide love to keep it! And will as long as I can but I want out of my crappy job.. im fed up with dealin with the arsehole public

We shall see what happens. I may go back to work tomorrow and change my mind lol but I know getting the qualification I want is the best thing to do... ide rather get college out of the way whilst im young rather than going back when im older.:(

Blimey that was quick. When I was driving the Stilo I was doing £50 every 3 days so I know whatcha mean about the expense of driving. I swapped to the Alfa and now do about £60 every week and half which is somewhat better.

Car ownership is expensive whatever you buy some just slightly less than others. How much is your insurance?

the insurance is £1600!

I used to spend around £70 a week on petrol in the cinq when I worked at thorpe park but I could afford it then! they paid well suprisingly! it was 100 miles a day round trip though :) clocked up nearly 5000 miles working there for 2 months :p

I dont dare take the turbo on long runs.. mainly due to not wanting to damage it etc but usualy because I cant afford to fill it up because im skint from paying the insurance/repairing the niggly little faults that an 16 year old car usualy has :p

£1600 bloody heck that is a lot of money to insure a car and an old one at that. I would be getting rid if I was you!

How much did you buy the car for if you don't mind asking?

cost me £1050 and worth every penny IMO.. should have gone for more in the condition for its age etc.

Didnt realise the difference between mk1 and mk2 insurance was sooo much! its daft really! If ide known I probs would have reconsidered buying it.. although im sure i would have got it anyway :p

£1050 sounds a good price for a nice one like that and in nice condition.

For us oldies £300 or less is about the right price for an Uno turbo on insurance. If I wasn't insuring another car my insurance quote on an Uno Turbo mk1 was £130. Oops I should say that it sounds like I'm rubbing it in, there are some limited benefits to being old, relatively speaking off course.

Its because it is a turbo car and probably find the insurance companies load the policy for youngish drivers because most end up in a hedge, ditch, wrapped around a lampost or in the back of another car.

There must be a way of getting insurance down from £1600 and allow you to keep it!

not now.. ive bought the insurance.. cant cancel it as the company make you pay the remaining balance on the policy.. which i can afford to do.. they are the cheapest I could find.. trust me!

And i wont go back to named driver ville because that gets me nowhere still with 0 no claims and ill never be able to afford a quick car :) MK1 was affordable.

well i can change the car on the policy no probs.. ive done it plenty of times and every time ive had the cheapest quote ive found from them.

The mk1 was 1300.. cinq was 800 with uad tunned head etc... this is 1600 but i cant get any better quotes from other companies for it!

Wouldnt want anything as slow as a cinq SX.. i could afford around £1100 a year. could push it a tad bit higher but I cant really be paying more than £100 a month.
