Hello there chaps,

I've got myself a set of Mk1 Turbo wheels for my Uno, I'm gonna get them refurbished and fit a new set of rubber. Can anyone tell me the standard size tyres for these wheels please.

I had a brainwave, I've just had a look on mytyres and it reckons the original turbo tyres were 175/60 R13 seems to confirm with that great site on your email.

Spoke to one tyre fitters and he reckoned these were an unusual size and £65 a pop for firestone. Mytyres sell them for about £35 so will need to find a local fitters. Alternatively buy the tyres and get them fitted when I refurb the wheels.

Blimey, if I get the wheels refurbed and fitted out with new rubber will set me back about £350, way more than the car is worth!

175/ 60 was the original tyre size for the mk 1 turbo wheels, but as you've found out, they're an unusual size and as a consequence expensive.

You'll save money by going for 185/ 60 tyres. The rolling radius is hardly altered so won't really affect your speedo reading, and they'll be a LOT cheaper. (y)

175/60 is the standard size for all Uno turbos. The clearence to the beam is very minimal. SOME tyres brands in a 185/60 may rub a little on the beam.

Anyone got any ideas on the best size tyres to use with 14" wheels? Ideally keeping the rolling radius approx the same as with the original 13" wheels
