Depends what type of horn you have :)

I reckon buy a packet of 10A fuses (the red ones) and pop them in. I think officially the rear fog-light should be a 7.5A, and the Services fuse (7.5A in your picture) I think should be a 10A...

I think that if you have a single horn, it does not use this fuse. It uses the radiator cooling fan fuse. But then, who really knows - it depends largely on the outcome of the Torino v.s. Milano game that was on that week.

Services should indeed be 10A.

And what have you got jammed into the Hazard light fuse?? Alost looks like my fusebox, wires jammed in everywhere. Reall should tidy mine up - conversions are messy lol.

Meanwhile, yes, my fusebox is the typical Uno Turbo mess. In fact, I show it to people who wonder what I mean when I talk about haphazard Italian electrics. I mean, there is no effort to label the add-on relays and fuses, which are clipped above the fusebox in such a way that you can't possibly reach them. Even when you find the 'add-ons' in the handbook, the chance of them still being in the correct places is slim :) And then there's those 'extras' over on the driver's side (or are there, I can't even remember!)

On that topic, my Uno Turbo had electric windows but no central locking. That seems strange, given the specification of an Uno 70SL, I would have thought the two would go hand-in-hand. I've fitted central locking, of course.


Louie: on the topic of over-rated replacements, I've just put in an 18W interior light bulb instead of the 5W one :D Let's see how long the lens lasts - or alternatively, how quickly the battery will go flat when I accidentally leave a door open. At least this time, with that light working, maybe I won't back down the driveway with the door open :eek:

nice... well that wire sticking out of that flasher fuse .. i gues it has something to do with my stereo .. this is the best looking portion of my Uno wiring :) I am sure if i show u guyz the the other bits hanging around it .. no one will undestand..

When car is on parking lights mode.. one headlight stays completely off.. so the question is .. that head light fuse missing.. is that for parking light... the light works fine when fully on instead of parking light mode...

heres another one .. when switched to highbeam the lamp which stays off during the parking mode works fine but the other one doesnt change to highbeam LOL..

And Ofcourse ... my horn dont work hehe.. hmmm 10A right? but if i use 20A.. would that be safer or stupid?
 
If that's the only sidelight not working, it won't be the fuse (front left/rear right sidelights (and vice versa) are on separate circuits. The fuse you are missing is for the rear fog light(s) (there may be only one, on the left side).

Get yourself a new wedge-base 5W bulb, probably costs less than a pound. Twist and pull the bulb holder from the back of the headlight, below the headlight bulb itself. Pull the bulb out and change it... a very common fault. You may also like to spray some cleaner into the bulb holder and tweak the fingers with a screwdriver to tighten them. Welcome to the world of Uno lights!

The headlight on the other side probably just has a crook bulb. Usually H4 but sometimes a 40/45W tungsten bulb :O depending on how old your 45 is.

To confuse the issue, many Unos have a dim-dip system that was required from 1987 for UK lighting regulations (not required after 1996 IIRC). This will turn on the dipped beams through a resistor when the headlight switch is in the 'sidelights' position. Thus, it can appear that sidelights are working (or not working) when in actual fact you are looking at dimmed dipped-beam headlights.

So to test the parking lights conclusively, you have to press the little button and turn the key backwards in the ignition/steering lock. Then, you are looking at just the parking lights (5W bulbs separate from the headlights).

I just realised that 'crook', meaning 'ill' or 'not the best', is possibly a New Zealand term . Another term that seems unique to NZ and means much the same thing is 'bung', as in 'the headlight bulb's probably bung'.

I must put my apology here.
I have no idea about the purpose of the fuse missing next to the horn fuse and even Haynes BOL (Book of Lies) does not clarify the issue.
The position is not present on any of my drawings of European Uno fusebox.
It must be the "UK dim-dip system" fuse then :confused:.
The symbol does not ring a bell...:bang:

1980 I think Alex ;)

I had a 1979 Vauxhall Cavalier for my first car, and it didn't have a rear fog light as it wasn't a legal requirement.

Some new cars had to fit a fog light at the rear after 1980 almost as an after thought, as they weren't originally designed to have one. Lots of new cars with a fog light bolted below the bumper looking like they bought it from Halfrauds!
 
umm.. i dont think i have a rear fog light .. :confused: cuz i dont have the front ones either... can anyone show me how does a rear fog light for Uno looks like?
