Possibly one of those made in Brasil? And what is the engine type?

Strange one! It has the 'clam shell' bonnet, and from what I gather they were only fitted to south American Unos. It has a mk1 tailgate and rear lights, but a mk2 dashboard (can't see the rest of the interior) :chin:

Spare wheel is also under the bonnet instead of the boot!

And as for that engine  It says 1000cm3 in the listing, so I assumed it was a FIRE. But in the picture it has inlet and exhaust on the same side, plus what looks like a cambelt cover so I suspect it is the old ohc unit. Maybe an update on the 1050cc engine as fitted to the 127? Those engines were also known as the 'Brazil' engines, so if it is indeed a south American Uno that would make sense. It also has two coils attached to the top of the engine!

The front bumper looks weird, but the rear looks like a mk1.

So to conclude I have no idea of what this Uno is! It's either a south American spec model, or maybe even south African? Suffice to say I've never seen one in the UK!

Yeah thats from Brazil. They currently make the mk3 Uno in Brazil, has a revised modern look, its called the Mille...

They also have their own version of the turbo model. Same engine bay as that, battery in the back and same air filter box etc.

these mk 3 uno shells could be imported. just need to know what rear suspension they are running etc to use to put all parts off a donar car. interesting idea i think:)

ya that's the brazilian version but no the mk3 (i think ), because they were producing it b4 the new Uno we know...

you can tell it from the bonnet, not the same
there is a forum for brazilian Ut, they have awsome vedios, i'll send it later...

If you notice more carefully you will see that this is NOT a Fiat Uno but an Innocenti Mille. These cars, along with the Innocenti Elba (Fiat Duna Weekend) continued their production in Europe under the brand name of Innocenti and had the facelifted front-end of the Mk2 Fiorino. Apart from the obvious things to notice (the spare wheel in the engine) one will also notice that the fuel cap is at the "wrong" side of the car (the left one, just like all the japanese cars), while the european Unos (and almost all european cars) have it at the right side. Of course this may come handy to UK drivers but to the rest of us is a pain in the... u know where, cuz the fuel tank never actually tops up but there's some space left for a couple of liters of fuel.

Oh, someone asked about the rear suspension. All I know is that the early brazilian Uno (and all of the derivatives) were using the suspension from the Ritmo.

i asked about this car to find out if the shells can be imported to save a few uno turbos from the grave.:)

Ummmm nice new shiny Uno shell, with no rot, how nice would that be :)

Plus i think the independant rear suspension is based on the 127, which is very clever as it has a rear transverse leaf spring which acts like a anti-roll bar.

Also that engine is almost certainly a version of the 127 1050cc engine, owned a 1050 127 Super for many years as a student, great car, shame the engine wore out :(

You can import them... but keep in mind that the engine bases of the brazilian uno are different from the ones of the european one. ;)

I once had a conversation with a mechanic friend of mine and we concluded that I only could put the 1.3 and 1.5 engines from the Fiorino in my Duna cuz the Uno ones weren't a straight swap due to different bases.

Uno's are still made in India. They are normal Unos AFAIK. I tried to price up a new shell at one stange but it was not possible to get one.
