and so it has come to pass, the tub has been laid up in my newly aquired garage, where she will await the spring and a fairly extensive strip down, rust finding session (actually may be easier just to find point to the one really nice bit of bodywork), and a lazarus like rebuild from the depths of the new "shed"

don't expect dunc/frosty like speediness, as i've said elsewhere, i'm a lazy sod, and it may well be 2007 before she graces the road again

i miss her so much......

Hi Jai,

Glad you’re back! I was (also) wondering how the move was going :).

Is the shed bigger and better than before . More room for UT bits and bobs :p.

AlexGS and I went over to Dunc’s house yesterday and I had my first ride in an Uno Turbo (believe it or not LOL) :woot:. Dunc’s friend is very near completion of his  MK1 re-shell – near enough to take us for a roller coaster ride . What can I say? I knew they were fast – didn’t know they are that fast :slayer: – want a MK1!!!!

Soon it will be the turn of my Ex MK1 Bianca to get the Turbo treatment. Can’t wait for a go in that :).

Jai, I hope you get time soon to get you’re UT sorted and back on the road! Good to know there is yet another restoration project in the pipeline :D.

Alex, good to meet you at long last. You’re always welcome at my place (y). Good luck getting the gold dust through customs . Hopefully I’ll be over you’re way next. Just got to sort those bills and get a MK1 UT ;) .

Regards All,

Hey Jai,

Good to hear you got the move sorted at long last. I take it you're up in my neck of the woods now?

Sorry that the tub has finally come off the road, but it should rise like a phoenix from the ashes in time.(y) I await your call when it comes to strip down time ;)

So now you aren't driving the tub, what's your daily driver? Have you taken over Mrs. T's Panda?!!!!

And good to hear that Alex made it up to see you Louie! Alex made it over to me just before Xmas and we had a whole evening nattering about Uno's and cars in general. A real shame that he missed the Ace Cafe meet, but the timing was bad with his trip to Europe!

By the way Louie, are you taking any pictures of the Dunc and his mate's Uno turbos? Be great to see them if you have. And I too look forward to seeing Bianca 'turbofied' :D It will be quite a shock to see her all muscled up after knowing her as a humble 1.0 litre!

Unos still rule :worship:

Hi Chas,

It was dark by the time we got to Dunc’s. My camera is flash less so I was unable to take pictures :( sorry. Dunk’s Uno is still in many many bits at the moment. Got to see a (nearly) bare Uno though .

The good news is Alex took some pictures – can’t wait to see how they turn out :). Wonder how big the smile is on my face after the ride :D.

I think Dunc will also be heavily involved with Bianca’s restoration. If Mike doesn’t join (think Alex may have persuaded him to :D), I’m sure Dunk will be keeping us updated :worship:.

I’m guessing (and hoping :spin:) it’s going to be a tough decision which Uno(s) to let on FF stands on completion of these projects :). Dunc getting his car ready for Stanford Hall last year was the start of his restoration. Hope he will be ready this year :p.

Maybe Alex could make Ace this week

Err sorry for hijacking you’re thread Turboned  . If Chas helping you with the rebuild, I’d recommend standing back with the camera ready. I’ve heard how fast he (de) skins Unos :D.

good to see ur getting her back to a nice rust free condition. dont be suppried at how much rust there will be hiding there tho!!

Yeah, mikes unos just about there, then over spring its my UT to do which we will be going at at some rate, power build it to get it done! then over summer it will be finishing mine off, getting it on the road etc and starting the bianca project. once the bianca projects done, it'll be new engine build for dunc. also this year, we gotta build mikes 170bhp lump he has hiding away in the garage! between us we got so many UT spares lol!. also need to sell a complete UT for my mate as he got one in bits he was gonna reshell and bought a punto gt instead. at least thats one less for me and mike to do lol!

good luck with urs turboned, cant wait to see it finished, but remember, mine only started out as a "get rid of rust" project, and well, fooook me lol! be worth it tho when i know its gonna be immaculate!

Dunc

p.s. i shall take photos of bianca when we're doin it, but my UT first hehe :p theres a que u know lol

So you'll be turning up at the ACE on Jap night now eh, Jai?! ;)

Look on the bright side, it will make a great parts hauler for all those turbo bits you need to get, and no one will want to nick it either :p

Apart from that, there's not much more I can say about it other than -

WHAT IS IT?!!!!!

(It looks like a Nissan Bluebird, but I really can't tell :D )
