well u all remember that problem i had with the overheating ....

ewll it is kinda ketter but something is still fishy ... i think there is a problem with the heater matrix
as my engine is staying at about 90
but loosing alot of water if in a long journy ... also there is no hot air in the car :( what shall i do
i also need a new speedo cable
how much?

You know there is no hot air through the 4 dashboard vents? Stupid as it is, and a real bugger to get the side windows un-fogged. And stupid as it is again: to get air out of those on the sides you have to drive really fast and open the side window a bit to create an underpressure...

If there is no hot air at all, the lever is propably broken or out of order at some point. Try looking at the rear of the facia to uncover a faulty wire or something that might have popped out of its place.

Bushboy. You get hot air through those adjustables on the sides??? I want that too - especially now when the car fogs down the minute I get into it in the morning and then the fog freezes to damn ice.

Bugger, my uno has just started to have the same problem, Stittign at 90-100c - no heat from the heaters. Oh and stals when idle when hot, - what a motor :(

well now this has been dragged up thought i'd ask, do you guys actually get air comming thru the ones on the very end of the dash? i don't

the ones on the centre console work for cold and luke warm air but not hot... i do like heading my feet up tho :D

No, the big vents at each end of the dash only work when the car is driving (air is forced in), and only push out cold air. There are also two very small vents at each end as well, and these DO push out hot or cold air for side window demisting.

Centre console vents only push out cold air. Hot air comes out of the floor and dashboard to windscreen vents only. The idea here is that you can demist the screen and/ or keep your feet warm, but also use the console vents to stop the interior getting too stuffy by having cold air blow to face level.

All very logical really! And the above is for a mk1. I assume the same applies to the mk2, though I think the mk2 SX had some kind of automatic temperature control as well?

B grateful that any 4 of the blowers wrk  Mine have just stopped! Si im the tosser wif the Windows open wen it rains just 2 try and c!

ok, if your car overheats and heater doesn't work your water level is 2 low, check the big welsh plug at the waterpump side they normally go, or check the ones on the exhaust side as they may be leaking but it doesn't show on your garadge floor because the hot exhaust causes it to evaporate before it reaches the floor. do a cooling system pressure test and then check if your pressure drops. hope this helps.
