Just a thought, pls do not laugh too loud...

Some Logos were equipped with ABS. AFAIK this was an optional extra, therefore it is rather rare. I am thinking about retrofitting the system on my Mk1 45.

This may very well turn to be only theoretic consideration as ABS system components will not be easily available at a scrapyard and buying them new is out of question - their price would be outrageous.

Now, to the point - does anyone here have some experience with ABS system on Uno? Does it work OK or not?
Is it worth the effort or is it just a freaky idea?

I wouldn't even attempt it!

Some mk1 Uno turbos were offered with 'Anti-Skid' as an option. It was a fairly primitive version of ABS, and apparently not that reliable or efficient.

Take a look at the Haynes manual to see a diagram of the anti-skid system and tell me you still want to retrofit it! It's very complicated and uses loads of hydraulic pipes.

Then again, maybe some European Unos were offered ABS later on in the production life?

I'll second this.

The anti skid was not very good and wasn't very reliable. You will curse the day you start on the conversion.

Yeah, I will forget it for the hell of getting the working sensors.

However, the hydraulic lines are something to laugh at for someone who completely and successfully disassembled and renovated/tested/reassembled the hydraulic system on Citroen (hint, hint :D :D :D :D ).

But, seriously - I will continue appreciating Uno 45 Mk1 for what it is. The impulsive thought of getting ABS was a result of (short) skidding on the first 2005 snow.
