Hi all,

I've been having a problem with the horn on my 1993 Uno Mk2 with 999cc engine. Maybe I've worn it out due to overuse! ;).

First checked the relevant fuse (under the dash passenger side) which was intact and cleaned up the two contact plugs low down near the front of the engine along with the two (male) horn terminals and the earthing bracket.

No clicking noise when pressing the horn pad on the centre of the steering wheel which, if present, might indicate the horn relay was still working?

I checked the connections under the horn pad and these seemed to be fine so I thought it might be a horn fault itself. However, a quick test showed it was in working order.

My attention turned to the horn relay. Had a look at AlexGS's useful and informative guide to relays which came in a separate forum thread.

Attached are a couple of photos which show the existing relay - if identified correctly.

Before I get hold of a replacement, what are the tests I could carry out with a multimeter to narrow down what might be causing the issue with the horn?

I forgot to mention the horn currently fitted is a single Bosch FC4 disc type (high tone).

Cheers,

Andy
