Hi everyone, happy fathers day, hope u having a beer and lookijng forward to the soccer today!
i need some advice concerning my fuel pump please.
Its a 92 fiat uno 1100,i redid the head but probably messed up with the mechanical fuel pump removal.
i cant recall if there was a lever or rod that came loose when i removed the pump.
cannot find anything close to it on the floor or surroundings.the closest thing i foundn is this little rod, could this be it and how would i connect it?

Thanks for anyninfo, just this stopping me from starting up

Hi :)

Look in classic panda section.. same tech

Dragon Man

Might offer a fix

Good luck

Charlie

My recollection is from Waay back..

Mk1 panda ownership.. so @1993

The fuel pump is 'prodded by a shuttle'

That sticks out of the head.. it shuttles back and forth.. driven by a lobe on the camshaft.

I never physically removed it.. just changed pumps ;)

But that rod you found looks a fair prospect:

Same diameter along length

Offer it into the head.. one end..then try the other

It should be an easy slide.. but no slop

Yes that's the rod that operates fuel pump I was telling you about.

Look in the hole in the head the fuel pump covers up, you could see a small hole that rod sildes into.
Then fit fuel pump.

When engine rotates the rod goes in and out pushing the level in the fuel pump, so pumps fuel.

Let me know how you get on.

It's is different to your old Ford escort.

The rod goes in end first so one end is pointing out . You can see in fuel pump where rod has been pushing lever

The rod goes in at about the same level as the mounting studs half way between the studs.

You are a star, the greatest ever!
popped it in and 3 mins later my baby started up,hooray!
thank you so much,u rock!
