Hi everyone,
it's been a while since i've been on this site. I will be putting up my Mint Pocket Rocket for sale in a couple of weeks.

In my early years, I was trained as an old school qualified panel beater. I then went on to become a gas engineer later on in life. I've always been a Fiat 131, Croma Turbo, and Uno Turbo enthusiast and have owned all of them over the years. The Fiat Uno Turbo is now in its original factory colour which is black, and has had all the love it has ever needed. It's currently my daily driver, and has had thousands spent on it.

It's an individual.

A black Fiat Uno Turbo looks the most cool without the red piping Fiat used on the front and rear bumpers, and the side shirt labelling. If you disagree, you can still get these items from Italy by way of eBay. I have christened the car, The Black Knight. She's currently running 155bhp and 160 pounds of torque.

She's a dream to drive, and can stand next to any 2019 car of today. The real business original hot hatch with values in this class only going one way. I am only selling as I am making preparations to live in another country. So everything around me is being sold.

I will add some pictures of The Black Knight in a few days once i've had a chance to fully clean and detail the car. I will be putting it up on eBay once ready if anyone on here is interested.

I built it to be a daily driver, and have used all my skills and knowledge to firstly make this car rust free, and secondly to look and drive better than any factory specced one. You've got nothing to prove in this car, and it will embarrass some seriously fast cars if you decide. However, in my experience, they all give way in respect to an Ikon.

The black Knight.

First picture is a sample of the welding.

If you are going to do a job, best do it properly the first time. The previous owner had the car sprayed in a candy orange colour. The car was always in good condition, but I choose to strip it down and remove all sound deadening material to do a proper inspection. Any rust was cut out and replaced with the good stuff. Three coats of red oxide, followed by two coats of hammerite paint for the chassis underside. On the interior sections a similar approach applied followed by sound deadening material. Painted over this with black hammerite paint to provide a watertight seal. Then applied final level of Silent Coat sound deadening on top. This makes it impossible for water to penetrate to the steel. Wet room environment.

Then full respray back to factory black.

The black knight

My car has had thousands spent on it as I never intended to sell. It's had a lot of love and hundred of hours bringing it back to full strength. I think most of you will agree that she's a looker. She draws a lot of attention when she goes out to play.

She's fully checked over, and given a proper shake down. The only things that have not been changed are the wheel bearings, subframe bushes and the alternator in terms of mechanical serviceable parts. I will upload a few pictures of some of them.

The tubular stainless steel equal length exhaust manifold makes a big difference in power. This still needs heat rapping as the tuner said that she's losing power due to heat. There's about 15bhp loss. I did try to ceramic coat it myself, but it cracked on installation. Power is up at 155bhp with 160 pounds of torque. I have the original exhaust manifold which will go with the car to the new owner when sold. She goes very well and she put a smile on your face.

New front grille at the paint shop. Also have the original Fiat Uno Turbo Wheels being newly refurbished and painted. These will all come with the car.

Cambelt and tensioner change, with fresh oil and filter before a series of runs on the rolling road to properly set everything up.

Engine and turbo is original and standard. There's a lot more power to gain though with a bigger turbo and cam to access the 200bhp range, and still keep the car reliable if you get the car properly setup on the rolling road afterwards.

This Uno Turbo has a great gearbox. Plus, it's running-in a new clutch and release bearing. The OMP Strut Brace is new, and it makes a world of a difference in performance, handling and braking. I highly recommend it.

Everything on the car has already been upgraded, and ready for big power. The clutch and gearbox will easily take 250bhp nicely, so nothing to worry about there.

The brakes pull the car up like no tomorrow with everything being new and upgraded. Initially, the car had upgrade pads all round, but I found the handbrake was useless as the brake pads needs to be warm to perform. So I swapped out the rear pads for standard Mintex brake pads.

The brakes are now far superior to the factory setup, and you will find yourself braking late, because of the increase in braking power. Brake fluid is currently dot 4. This is one area I highly recommend all Fiat Uno Turbos should take. Even on standard powered ones, as these are very quick.

My plan was to get to the stage of having a nice quick Fiat Uno Turbo, and then acquire a second engine to ship to Guy Croft for him to build me a 1.9 stroker unit. I ultimately wanted 350-400bhp engine to justify uprating my gearbox and running bigger brakes to have some serious fun on the German Nurburgring.

However, all my plans have changed and sadly, I will soon have the car for sale. My plan is to list the car on eBay and sell to the highest bidder. I have recently moved address, so i'm waiting for the new V5 logbook to come back.

Made an error in the performance figures. It's running almost 155bhp and 165 pounds of torque.

Printout below.

During 2006 the car spent some time in Greece where it underwent a full engine rebuild at Pitstop Tsangarakis Performance. The Turbo was also fully rebuilt at the time for which I have all the paperwork to prove this. The previous owner sold the car on a year later where it was driven 5 months and then garaged until 2017.

The recommission then starts in earnest to return the car back to the road. Sine the engine rebuild, the car has done 16000 miles so far and continues to be a strong puller.
