Hi guys please help me out, I have the uno 1100 just
yesterday is started something odd, first it was the
indicators they rear lights would flick and sometimes
disappeared when I switch the indicators. now it's now the
reverse lights they are both working but yesterday night
when I engaged the reverse gear there on my dash board
appears the heater light when I go and check at the back I
saw that only one lights is on and the brake light and the
lights bulbs are also on yet the car is on reverse. what could
possibly be causing the problem? the indicator lights works
well on one side the other side flicks only the centre and the
front.

Remembering a friend's Uno many years ago with similar issues, he found earth problems.

You will need to go searching for all the earth points. These are like little flowers with connectors instead of petals. I think there is one on each inner wing, but have a good look around for others. There may be one hiding beneath the battery. I'll ask him if he remembers all the locations, may be a day or two for a reply.

Each earth connection needs cleaning. Not just the connector to the earth point, but also the earth point to the car body.

Most likely the earth problem is inside one or both of the rear light clusters.

Take the lens off and inspect the metal strips in the lights board. It's like a big circuit board. Look for any corroded areas. If you see rust, clean that part of the circuit with wire wool or some emery paper.

Then remove each bulb, one at a time and check inside the bulb holder. Again, clean up any corrosion or dirt.

From memory the rear light and the brake light are a combined 5W21 bulb.. so when you refit that one, make sure it goes back how you removed it, otherwise you'll have a too bright tail light and a weaker brake light. The bulb is only supposed to be able to fit one way but you can jam it in back to front.

If one side looks immaculate and no corrosion to see, then check the other side. If they both look clean then the problem could be one of the on-body earthing points.. but start with the tail light clusters first.

Thank you very much guys for your speedy response, I checked all the earth grounds this morning, went to the rear light removed the cover on the right side which was the dead side, removed the circuit board and cleaned as soon as I placed it back on everything was back to normal function, the indicators, reverse lights and brake lights, the heater light on the dash that appeard when I step on the brakes and engage reverse is gone thanks you very much I Am back on the road☺☺☺ this saved me much time and energy I was hoping it was the fuse box or the lights switch
