Hi,Trevor, many thanks for the offer,I guess in time I am going to need lots of parts, the only good part of this car is the bonnet and the roof ! I would not have bought the car if I knew it was this bad, however I have it now and I am going to give it my best shot in rebuilding it , I'm neither a mechanic or a welder but I have seen plenty of TV programmes on car Restoration so I am taking one step at a time and have started seemingly on the worst end of the car, do you have any outer rear wheel arch panels as this will be the next job ?

Well , making some steady progress, boot floor strengthening bar welded in , also boot floor welded up and repair patch made for strut top, all bits now welded in, painted with zinc paint and seam sealed, when the boot carpets down you wont even know bits have been welded in.

I'm on the third bottle of mig gas at the moment and some more photos to update the thread but just been a bit busy at work so not just got round to the update yet,I am lucky as a few yards down the road from me is a welding /fabrication workshop so I can get cheap gas and parts made up that I can't bend into shape.

coming on ?

looks a bit rough at the moment ,still more tidying up to do but remember none of this will be seen when the rear bumper and back light is fitted.

Next job on Sunday to do the drivers side rear strut, bits cut out ready to make the new panels.
Hi there

I am really impressed! I mean, I have no technical abilities to judge the work, but to my uneducated eye this looks like a mega transformation. Plus, good job on saving these now very rare Unos.

Don't worry I'm not a mechanic either, just seen how to do these things on wheeler dealers, it's pretty easy repairing parts of the car that won't be seen, the acid test of my abilities will be how well I can repair parts of the body on show.
