A complete Uno turbo 1.3 conversion kit recently changed place from my X1/9 to another X1/9. Engine + gearbox + all ancillaries. The engine ran perfectly in the first car but the new owner experiences some unidentified symptoms.
The engine starts well and idles fine. But when loaded it's very weak and according to the new owner it "backfires" and popping sounds occur from the air filter. He claims the ignition timing is set correctly, so is the fuel pressure. Ruling out these immediate error sources, do you think that the flapper air flow meter (AFM) would be the next thing to check?
Can a faulty AFM cause these symptoms?
