Hi all.

I`ve fitted front fogs to my Mk 2, & fitted a turbo front fog light switch insert onto the centre consul switch blank, now I want to know where the wiring goes from the switch.. Does it go into the fusebox? If so, where does it come out? Do they all have a front fog loom?

Any help welcomed!

Thanks. (y)

Fittes an SX bumper to my Uno Start back in 2005.

I got the fog lights working before the next MOT as I thought it would fail if they were fitted and didn't work lol.

There was no loom on the Uno. I used a relay (got a kit from Frauds and the wires fell off the conneectors).

Initialey I had a rocker switch mounted on the dash where the clock blanking plate was on the base spec Uno.

The switch ilumination was way too bright.

Eventualley I fitted a front fog switch button as found in Unos which have front fogs, and as I was running SX clocks for the taco, I wired in the on dash front fog idiot lamp too :D.

Sorry I can't remember which dash / switch pins I connected to, but it all seemed obvious when tracing back the wires / fitting the switch in place of the blanked switch for non fog unos.

The low power switced relay feed was taken from somewhere on the dash like a backlight / cig lighter bulb so the fogs would only work when the main lights were on.

EDIT. I seem to remember the switch input / output went nowhere on my Uno and I had to find a switched live to feed into the switch and take the output to my own relay

The high current feed to the relay went direct to the battery (via a fuse neat the battery).

Can't find a picture of them switched on - but it was a rarity as it's not often foggy :)

Cheers Louie, I had a feeling it would be too old/basic to have an unused loom!

I would like to work out where the SX loom was routed, so I can recreate it (but with a relay), its just a case of working out how they did it, I reckon the switch loom is there & goes to the fuse box, but where it comes out the fuse box is the mystery!

I need to study the wiring in my manuals, then see if theres any resemblance to the actual car... I`ve got 3 manuals, cant find any of them at the moment!

I`ve not got any further as I`ve been ill & unable to work on the car or get down under the fuse box.

I have found my Uno manual & think I`ve sorted out what wires I need to be looking for.. Primarily the red & yellow ones behind the fuse box. I dont have the front fog fuse or relay though, but in theory they can be added.
